First off I'd like to thank Stinkyattic and The Image Reeper for their input on what to use for starting my seeds. I normally have used clones but wanted to try some new strains so I ordered the seeds from Hemp Depot a few weeks ago. After coming home from vacation I went to work on figuring out what to do with my new babies. On Friday November 19th I planted 10 seeds using Scotts seed starting planting soil. Today, 4 days later the first 4 are starting to show. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that they all pop but I'm pretty excited to see these ones after only 4 days. These seeds were pretty inexpensive and I'm hoping for the best. I've also got a few Dutch Passion Euphoria Feminized seeds that I wanted to wait to start to make sure my method would work. I won't post every day and bore everyone but will update regularily especially in the beginning as that's when we'll see the most changes. Wish me luck for lots of females.

Okay so I screwed up on my date of planting. It should've been November 17th not the 19th. Today is 7 days and all but 3 have sprouted. I'm looking forward to good things.

dude im pretty new to the indoor thing as well but, those seedlings look like they are struggling for light. if you gotta go cost effective, i'd put some cfls, on those things asap, and within a 6" or so, also i'd try to get a hold of some bigger pots or at least use the whole styrofoam cup for now, when you replant, i'd also bury them a little deeper to counteract some of that stretching

They are REALLY stretching..

More lights, a fan, and some good nutrients..

Well it's been 5 days since my last post. Only one more seed popped. 2 are still not coming up. I'm going to hope for the best as they're in the same place as the rest and I have nothing to loose by keeping them moist for another week or so. The last 2 that popped have dropped the seed husk since they popped a few days ago but the husk seems to be on tight enough that I'm not going to try and pick it off. I've move the plants close to light and am feeding them a week nutrient solution for now. Check out the progress. Oh yeah, I also screwed up when I said this is a White Rhino grow. Dumb ass me is to high to remember they are White Russian babies.

Um yeah i think your ladies are a little beyond stretched. If I were you i would try to start over, but this time get some light closer to it. Do you have any sort of light on it now?? But those things are just gonna eventally fall over due to the stem is soooo stretched.

Well rather than start all over I just did a little transplanting yesterday. They actually seemed to like it a lot because there is a noticeable difference today. At this point I don't think they're more than 2 or 3 inches from the lights. Five of the original 10 that I planted seem to be doing good while 3 others are coming along slowly at best and 2 aren't even going to pop. I just planted 3 Dutch Passion Euphoria feminised seeds I got from Dr. Chronic yesterday so I'll be looking forward to having them pop in the next few days. This time I've got them planted in whole cups and they'll be close to the light so I hopefully won't see the same stretching I did on these ones.

Well it's been 4 days since my last post and my little girls are looking great. I'll be transplanting them to clay pellets next week. These are the plants in pic 1. Six days ago I dropped 3 Dutch Passion feminised Euphoria seeds into the seed starting dirt I've got and they are going to town. The popped after only 2 days and 4 days later they're looking pretty good. See pic 2. I also obtained a couple of clones of a strain I've been told is Early Girl. They were in pretty bad shape when I got them but they're turning around and looking good today. Pic 3.

I'm sure not good at math. It's been 6 days since my last post. Maybe I should lay off the weed?:stoned:

nice plants! Whoever said to start over when ur seeds stretched out is way too pessimistic! The first time i sprouted seeds they stretched a lot, and fell over and i was soooo worried that the stems rotted or something... that wasn't the case luckily. I propped them all up using bobby pins, and then when i transplanted them i stuck them in soil right up to their seed leaves. Turned out just fine :)

oh, and if u are using cfls you can put the lights way closer than 6inches...a good rule of thumb to tell if your light will be too hot, so close to your plants, is you just hold the top of your hand about the same distance to the bulb as your plants will be. leave there for about 30 seconds or so. if it feels uncomfortable, you need to move the light up. if it doesn't feel too hot, it's just fine.

Things are looking pretty good. I'm going to be transplanting over the next couple of days to clay pellet in a net pot. I'll be doing the Rubbermaid/Sterlite container bubbler. This is the first time I've done it this way and I'm excited to see how it turns out. I'll included some pics of it in my next post. Today I've got another pic of the White Russians. They're doing great. Next is a pic of the Early Girl clones. I pinched the tops of them a day or two ago. And last but not least is a pic of my Euphoria starts. They're looking good too.

Well I got my White Russians all transplanted to my new bubbler set up and they didn't skip a beat. The first four were transplanted 4 days ago and then last night I transplanted the remaining 2 plus my 2 early girl starts. The stems on the WRs look stretched as they've been from the beginning but I'm going with it anyway. The growth from the first leaves up looks fairly compact so I'm hoping it won't be too much of a problem. I know that my containers shouldn't be clear and I will be painting them with 2 coats of black pretty soon. I'm going to top all the WRs within the next few days and then take starts about a week after that. Hopefully I'll be putting them under the big lights by the first week in January.

Ok so I've had a few camera problems since my last post but I'm back in business now. On December 21st I topped 5 of my 6 White Russians in hopes they'd grow enough to have starts available for me. Well I think they're just ready now. I usually veg under MH and the plants sure grow quicker that way. On December 28th I transplanted my 3 DP Euphoria starts to the bubbler along with a White Russian that just doesn't seem to want to grow. I've got enough room to let it limp along. I'm planning on taking start off plants 1 through 11 within the next couple of days. That's all the White Russians, the 3 Euphorias, and the 2 Early Girls. My girls are just about ready to go into flower but I haven't secured a spot yet. Should have one in a week or two. I can't wait to see how many girls I get out of my White Russians. The first 2 picks in this post are of the plants on 12/27/06. The roots are just starting to look real good at that point. Shots 3 and 4 are side view of the plants today. Shot 6 is looking down at White Russian plants 2,4 & 6. I'll make another post with more pictures.

The Euphoria plants have quickly jumped up to the size of White Russians so I'll be taking the starts by topping them. I'll being doing the same with one of the White Russians. The first pic from right to left is #12 the runt WR, Euphoria and then Early Girl. Pic 2 are WR plant 1 & 3. I know #1 has some burn on the leaves and that's because I had the lights too close. Pic 3 is WR 3 & 5 and Early Girl 7. Last but not least are plants 9 & 13 both Euphoria. So how's it all looking?

Well at this point I still haven't got a place to put all my girls so I had to chop down a bunch of over growth this morning. I won't show pictures because it isn't pretty. What I do have pictures of is the starts I've taken. I've always used rockwool and domes but decided to give the low maintanance bubble cloner a try. All the reading I've found says that you can expect roots in five to ten days. I'll post pics of each day starting at day 12. As you can see by the pictures, some of the stems have started rotting. Two days before these pictures I was getting ready to go back to my old rockwool days thinking this wasn't going to work. Then I popped the cover on day 12 and it looks like it will work. Enjoy some root porn.

Then there's this morning, day 20. All have roots. There's one with only a few started but after seeing what happened with the others over the course of only a few days I'm sure it will be good in only a couple more days.
