View Full Version : Why are y'all so afraid of long posts?

There have been a number of occasions where a member (often times a new member) has made a long post about an experience or what ever and people complain about the length. Look, if you don't have the mental capacity to read "a lot" of words, or simply to lazy or disinterested, don't respond. There is no reason to bitch about the length of a post. Someone makes their first post and puts effort into it and they get people replying about how that was just to long to read...
I understand sometimes you just want to skim through the boards and look for the threads you can read through quick. I understand, i do it to sometimes. But if you come across a short story about a persons first time, their is no need to point out how boring or dull you think their post is. And yes I am rambling on and on for a reason.
Maybe it is just me, but I find it very rude to tell someone you didn't read there post because it basically bored you, but good luck with what ever they were talking about. Just don't reply.

Well when im really stoned, a wall of text hurts my eyes. And seeing this is a cannabis site...im sure most of the members are usually stoned. Most of the time the long ones are more interesting :)

I don't have a problem with long posts. I usually find them quite interesting when I'm high. I can almost picture the whole situation in my brain lol.

I get discouraged when I pop open a loooong post, but I don't say anything,,,I think it is the lack of patience we all seem to have these days...
if I see it is getting attention I will usually go back and read it...

It all depends on what the post is saying.
If what you have to say is interesting to me, I will read it. If it's not, I won't.
Don't feel bad. There are short, one-paragraph posts that I don't finish reading too.

Really? People are complaining about long posts? I haven't noticed. I agree, they shouldn't bother bitching.
I enjoy a good long post, sometimes I don't always feel like reading it all, but in that case I'll read it later, and post then.

The only time I bitch is when it's a long post and they don't space out the text, otherwise I'm fine with reading a long post.

I think it's important to space them out because stoned or not, I can't read long posts all in one block.
I don't have a problem with long posts. Sometimes, I don't like the short posts with no details. Especially when they are seeking advice.

Okay, I'm with you on this. It does sometimes get hard when it is one big block of text. I also refuse to read any post over a few sentences if there is no punctuation.
I hate reading something and thinking WTF? What he killed his dog while on weed... uh? Oh ok, it should be, "the weed I picked up today killed. My dog is cool." Seriously though, bad punctuation can completely change a sentence.
