View Full Version : The Truth To Me

Through various experiences and thought sessions, ive concluded my 19 year debate between a higher force, or science.

Ive discovered and experienced many different angles of this subject. I was forced to go to church until i was 15. I never took it to heart, but believed in everything i was taught, until about 12 when I started developing my own belief system... which was... to go against things people wanted me to believe.

So I claimed to be Athiest until earlier this year when I got back into using cannabis.

I went into thought sessions and discovered what I somehow just knew to be true. And a first mushroom trip several days ago, confirmed my beliefs VERY strongly.

I believe:

Organized religion is a support system for those in search of hope. (Or a way to spend a boring Sunday morning :p) I do not doubt some occurances stated in the Bible, nor do I doubt the existence of something higher than humanity.

God is Love. They are one in the same. There is a life force and energy in EVERYTHING we know, see, feel, taste, and all things unknown. There is a repeating circle that everything is a part of. And the circle is an infinite band of love. There is a "Heaven" and it is accessible by Love. Organized religion helps people learn to love and appreciate. And with that, they are accepted into the infinite life.

Learn to love all things, and you will find inner peace, and comfort in the afterlife.

Peace.

I'm with Stemsis... though I think you've discovered a great philosophy, you might miss out on further discoveries if you decide to 'conclude' your search and limit yourself to your beliefs. After all, as you no doubt have learned, allowing your views to change can be a very wonderful thing. :) Keep spiraling out, keep your ears, eyes, mind and heart open, and who knows how far you might go.

Happy trails. :stoned:

Hello Justinsane! What you feel is what I am searching for and I want to find inner peace and I want to surround myself with positive feelings and most of all, I want to learn to love all things but unfortunately, I don't know how. How do you learn to love when I was never really taught how to? How do I know when it's true love when all I've felt in life was pain and disappointment? How do I learn to love those that bring me sooo much unnecessary pain for unknown reasons? I'm in process right now of trying to look within...I am trying to give myself the love that others have failed to give me...so that I can give the love back. I am trying to work from inside out but it's a very difficult and confusing journey for me when I don't have anyone to guide me through it.

Wow, I'm glad to see such support in this field of such opinionated nature. No, I do not intend to end my search here. I will continue to learn and love to the end of my days, and beyond that.

Cheery, if you read, I MUST recommend a book to you (and everyone) that will likely change your perspective on love. Its a quick, and easy read. I finished it in 2 days, its called The Four Agreements. Extremely helpful in the search for inifinite love for everything around you. It's a must read. Its not another "theory" book, or a book telling you what you should and shouldnt do to come out on top. This book uses the mind and your personality to change the way you handle situations, and your point of view toward everything.

Try it, and peace!

I'm not sure if you're referring to the bible or not, but it's not possible to have love without Jesus. Love is a person. God is love. I'm not saying you have to do anything to come out on top, just speaking the truth.

If God is love, and you can't have love without Jesus... then I guess God didn't exist before Jesus came around?

Jesus was an advocate of love, and can be a guide to love, but he is not the only avenue to love.

I agree with afghooey.

Love is infinite and has no boundaries or limitations. No rules or guidelines.

Pass That Shit, you've really taken a step down in my opinion of you (not that I imagine it matters to you). I can only find love through Jesus can I? Well then, I'll let all my fellow buddhists know that Buddha was full of shit, that his method to universal compassion and love was all smoke and mirrors. While we're at it, lets go insult the Bah'ai's as well, I've got a Bah'ai friend who would be ever so impressed with such remarks. Seems that's a recurring and growing theme on this board, that everybody who's not following Jesus is wrong. Though historically that attitude has sure caused some problems. Thanks for your consideration buddy.

I'm with you friend... This is a universe of flowing and recycling energy that can be modified and passed on...As you grow the herb send your love to your plants and continue affecting the universe with positiv vibration.

Jesus is eternal. He is from the beginning. He made all things. He doesn't have beginning of days or end of life. Jesus is eternal life.

Mr.D,
I understand how you feel but I'm not here to be a menpleaser. I'm here to testify of his word. I'm sure the non christian feels the christian is wrong, so why would I be any different?

Because there's a difference between believing you're right, and being so arrogant in your certainty as to make rediculous claims like those who don't follow Jesus have no understanding of love. I believe buddhism is the best road to developing compassion, but I don't go around insulting people by telling them that they can't possibly have any understanding of it because they don't follow the words of my spiritual leader.

No God of Love would punish or condemn someone who had other ideas or beliefs.

whatever floats your boat, kiddo.

if you need organized religion to keep love in your heart then that's cool, just don't let the nut-cases drag you down into their elitist quagmire.

i've always wished i could find that kind of faith, but i guess it just wasn't to be... (heavy sigh)

as for heaven, make it here.

Oh shit man, reading this post really has me thinking. I feel like I realized what the starters of all these religions may have really wanted. I agree with you a lot and feel like we have similiar veiws, keep up the philosophy and spiritual findings.
