Deftones a stoner band????

I have never heard them considered such though I love the Deftones and enjoy listening to them while toking. Chino has some powerful emotion he shows with his voice and they sound great at at level high enough to make you go deaf. :)

there a good band to listen to well Fucked up but there also good sober and they do smoke pot which doesnt intirely make them a stoner band you know

The fourth time I got high, I got really high, and turned off the lights, and put on Deftones live in Hawaii, the dvd, and watched it, with my surround sound, in my room, with black lights on and shit. It was kick ass. But yeah, they smoke alot of weed.

And kknight, he's not mistaking it. Deftones did a version as well. It's on their cd, "B-Sides & Rarities". I personally enjoy it more than the Shinedown version. I saw Shinedown at the Rob Zombie and Godsmack concert in September, and Shinedown played the whole song all slow and acoustic, except for the last chorus.

Eh. I'll admit I like deftones at times but a little bit goes a long way with me. Having said that, I don't consider them a stoner band in the least. Despite the fact that members of the band smoke, I don't particularly enjoy listening to Deftones while high, and when that happens to occur, I usually change to something else. Chino's voice just makes me a little nauseous when I'm high.

I don't think smoking pot necessarily qualifies an artist(s) as a stoner group. I mean, willie nelson smokes plenty of pot but I don't really listen to him either. Is he a stoner band?

I don't think they would be what would be classified as "stoner metal" or "stoner rock" or any of that, because it's not like their songs are all about pot or being high, and they don't really promote it. I think they are stoners though, and I think they make music that some stoners like, so in that aspect, I guess you could say they are a stoner band, but then again, loads of bands would be stoner bands.

Huh? How does that statement make sense? Obviously you've never sat down and put your mind to work while stoned. Here's a direct quote from Erowid.org, (an extremely reliable source).

That line was listed under the positive effects column in the Effects section for Cannabis on erowid.

Older Deftones is by far the best. More raw, more visceral, mo' betta. I saw them in concert at Germain a few years ago right when Puddle of Mudd was becoming popular with that smack my ass song. Puddle was the opener then the 'tones and Godsmack was the finale. Best concert ever save Puddle of Mudd they suck. I had front row center tickets and Chino jumped into the audience and did his signature scream about two inches from my face. My and my buddy helped him back over the railing. After that their roadies would bring out inflated balloons the members would inhale whatever was in the balloon and blow out a huge cloud of smoke that smelled like pot so I think they are a stoner band, maybe not stoner rock on the same level of Kyuss though.

BTW Godsmack puts on an amazing show and so does Deftones. I can't stand going to concerts where all they do is stand their with no emotion playing their instruments. I saw Weezer live and have not listened to them since.

the Deftones are an awesome band, and while they may smoke lots of pot (after the last track on around the fur before the hidden sog starts you can hear someone taking rips out of a bong)... I don't think they are really whats considered stoner rock or stoner metal... stoner rock and stoner metal is more bands like

Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Butthole Surfers, Fu Manchu, Scissorfight, and High On Fire
