How do you know when to harvest? My grow right now has lots of buds on them and white hairs still shooting out of the tops of the buds however i think im starting to see a little orange color. Its been about 6 weeks now. Ive heard early harvest is better for head high and later for body high but i have no clue where im at. Also when i do decide to pick it do i uproot the whole plant and hang it upside down or just stems. It would be great if someone could explain or show me where i can read up on when to harvest and how. This is my first grow and i got 1 lady and 3 dudes and i dont want to fuck this up. Also can u take a clone while its budding and if i plan on regenerating it how much do i need to leave?

When the hair are aout 1/2 red/orange its a good time to harvest also i have a diagram below you can use to make your decision, use a magnifying glass or micro scope.
FYI - Stop "bumping" your post, someone will get to it no need to try to rocket it to the top of the list. imagin how frustrating that would be is evryone was doing that.

Well,
You still have questions? Let's see if I can help you. When do you harvest? Well I say take samples in weeks seven through ten then you'll know what your preference. I may prefer the high at eight weeks but you may prefer 10 unless you sample you'll never know. So color means very little when it comes down to personal taste. You feeling me so far?
Now your cloning questions. It is harder to clone a budding plant. If you want to regenerate you need to leave about 12 to 18 inches of the plant when you harvest.
When you do harvest either the whole plant or most of it you have options. I don't bother to dry the roots some may I don't. What ever you cut you can hang and dry as is or remove the large fan leaves reducing the amount to prune when dry.
