you must be smokin crack or sumthing.. lol
I freaked out like that once. It was the first time I got really blitzed. Exact same symptoms. Thing is, it's all in your head, my buddy took my pulse and to him it was normal, but in my head it was pounding out of my chest. You just have to calm yourself down, because as long as you know what you're smokin', you shouldn't have any worries. When I freaked out it was out of the same bag I had smoked from 10 times before. The only difference was that it was all dried up.

Happened to me the first few times. I noticed it so much, my chest was always so warm and my heart was racing. It still happens when I get too high but it doesn't bother me that much since I have a cure. Most of the time you have to have total control and stop all thoughts, sit on the floor and just try not to breath heavily because remember constantly doing this sober can make you lightheaded and already panicking doesn't help, so just try your best to breath normally and just chill out. In a few mins it'll stop and you'll be fine, you go up the roller coaster and now you just have to wait a min to go down the roller coaster and it'll be all good the rest of your high ;).

Well weed does make your heart race ill give it that. One time I smoked a fat bowl to myself walkin the dog and then started runnin around with her. When I got home I thought my heart was gona explode and got a little freaked out. But I just grabbed some water and a snack and calmed the fuck down.

Sometimes though my heart feels a little tight and warmish after the fact :p. It usually goes away in a few hours or minutes but I still find that...disturbing.

your heart WONT explode... so DONT call 911
Weed speeds up the pulse, slightly.
In its 600 million + year history it hasnt killed a single living thing, so to be honest, i dont see why it'd start now.

So is it ok that my friend with a heart condition(on meds) smokes some tree?
I mean I dont see why it would have any negative effects with his meds as they are to treat his heart condition and are not pyscoactive.

Exactly.
I don't see how people can freak out on weed. Its NEVER killed anyone before. If you think your heart will explode cause your high, your crazy!
One of my friends has been having that happen to him lately. But he also had a heart-attack and did some other stuff...its still all in his head though.

Its happened to all of us. The more you dwell on it the more your gonna feel like it "hurts" and get freaked out...if it happens, just fucking forget about it, put your mind on something else, it's all good man.
since your friend told you, and THEN you started feeling it, it may be a panic attack

Weed is known to cause Paranoia in some people, which would increase your heart rate. it is not dangerous unless you have a pre-existing heart condition. It happens to me too sometimes, but am able to control it simply by telling myself "it's just the weed, nothing to worry about". I have actually heard of people quitting because if it, but again, it is generally not a dangerous condition. Just a side effect of weed for a few.

OK, we probably ought to move this to medical, actually, and I shall do that momentarily. Weed smoking does indeed cause an "adrenergic" response in many people, especially within the first one or two hours of smoking. Despite everyone's calm assurances here to the contrary, that period of vaso-constriction, which seems to have to do both with the particular strain of weed and probably also with the diminished oxygen levels from smoking itself, raises the risk of heart attack by about five times what it normally is. The panicky, jittery response happens during this same period to people who have it. The paranoia, happens during this phase, too. These are well-documented, studied facts.

Chances are, however, that if you have a healthy heart to begin with, a racing heart rate isn't going to cause anyone a heart attack or an explosion (which is almost impossible anyway). The people who're most at risk of having dangerous cardiac episodes after smoking--and there are certainly plenty of people who've actually died as a result of this, only they're counted as heart disease victims rather than cannabis-induced deaths--are folks with existing severe coronary artery disease.

well your heart rate will go up, you are smoking a drug. i never believed that you could OD on weed, but then 2 years ago a guy friend of mine smoked so much that he went into cardiac arrest and died that night. the autopsy proved he was a young and 100% healthy man with no ailments at all. so be careful.

If your lazy and/or fat your heart has to beat faster than it would if you were healthy. So even at rest, if your just sitting there smoking, and you don't generally move much anyway, your probaly going to suffer. Try getting certain strains of weed and figuring out what is making your heart race so much, besides you and your thoughts helping you to think that you are going to die any minute, its always good to figure what is a good strain for you.... and there are alot of strains about that don't induce that kind of undesirable effect.

Weed DOES cause your heart to beat 20bpm above normal, and sometimes double that. You may feel chest pains because of lack of oxygen, or the constriction of blood vessels around your heart (a non-fatal temporary condition; elderly people call it angina). If you look at it from a beneficial point of view, your heart is simply doing exactly what it does during a heavy workout... So if you want to look at it in a purely abstract view, this can actually strengthen your heart, putting you less at risk for coronary problems in the future.
There, I said it. Weed is good for the heart!
