I checked out the news today and just sickens me what people will do just to get something now at high price when they could get it later for much less. Here one guy was shot cause some asshole tried stealing his PS3 helllllooo its just a box with wires its not worth dying for. The ones that did get theres are now gonna sell it on ebay for 2,000$. I wouldnt be surprised if people that stupid would pay that much hell I could understand if you were getting a flat screen tv but come on. What does everyone else think

My friend told me he was waiting in line and some 19 year old kid got trampled on and had to go to the hospital because everyone was rushing to get on the list for 50 PS3s.
People are crazy.

People are just so impatient and stupid to pay that much for a game system. If they would just wait they could get it a few hundred cheaper after the holidays.

Its crazy that people are willing to spend 600 on a small little box thats gonna be collecting dust half the time. To me 600 is alot of money cant just throw it away if ya got bills to pay and rent now dont get me wrong I want a PS3 as much as anyone but you aint gonna find me sleeping outside no Best Buy to get one lol.

I work at Wal-mart in Fresno, Ca...there was people waiting for days outside for the 6 PS3s we got in. At the Best Buy here, there was 200 people waiting, and then there was a riot. Someone got arrested, they busted out the tear gas, baaaaaaaad times...

Just because someone pays $2k doesn't necessarily make them stupid. Could be they're just rich and impatient, and they make more money on the interest on their banked money to cover that cost and not even notice. Yes, there really are people that rich, lots of 'em. When you can make TEN grand just sitting down and watching TV for eight hours, what's two grand? Beyond a certain point, money becomes meaningless to people. I aspire to reach that point one day, but I doubt it'll ever happen.
For normal everyday Joe's, $600 is pushing the limit. Why pay $2k, when you can buy a whole new nice computer for that, that'll do a lot more than some game box. People are just crazy sometimes.

Even if you had the PS3 it wouldn't make a difference, because there won't be any good games for it for a long time. The best games usually start to show up years after the console is released.

who want to buy my PS3???

Reason why this happened is because the PS3 is basically a console of the gaming computer today. The graphics of the PS3 and computer games are just alike (if PS3 isn't better than most) plus there is no need to update your PS3 because gaming companies are always gonna push it to the limit, but not over it to where it ends up lagging. But with computers some people can't upgrade to stop that type of thing from happening. I can understand shooting some one if they tried to take my PS3 too, hell it's $500-$600 and if I had that money to blow I would've worked hard for it. Now I'm not trying to kill anyone unless I'm in a war but I would try to wound some one.

I dont think it was the guy who bought it who shot someone. I thought I heard that some guy tried to rob him and he said no and the guy robbing him shot him.

no, it happened about 45 min from where i live at a wal-mart. a guy had a gun under his coat, and was demanding that everyone at the checkout line give them the money for the PS3. one guy said no, and was then shot

funny shit, supply is WAY TOO HIGH, and demand is weening.
some ebay auctions today, arent even breaking 1000$
SUCKAS!
It's a fooking piss take.
Like you said, if they just waited a couple of months it'd go down in price so much they'd look back and slice their wrists in angwish over their stupidity.

Remember when Tickle me Elmo first came out? Same stuff happened. Are people that screwed in the head. I can see people in countrys with no food going nuts to get what they can to survive, but were talking toys here.

I tell you what, being the first to have something is not neccessarily a good thing. Remember what happened to Sega Saturn, or Dreamcast? People spent up to $600 for those things when they first came out. But just as quickly as they arrived, they were gone again, because they were beaten by someone else's game console.
