hello all:) my tapwater ph is 7.9 and my ppm is 163. i heard u leave ur water sit overnight then use it does that sound right? or do i just use some ph down? can somebody give me the rundown on it? thanks:) :)

Leaving it over night/24 hours wil help to dissipate the chlorine in the water and in some cases will take the PH down a couple points. Still IMO you would want to take the PH down because if you are growing in hydro you could sit it out for a year and it wont get down between 5.3 to 5.8, which are optimal PH levels for hydro. The PPM is good if it is that low, but you will want to add some Cal Mag to add back some of the possible micro nutrients. That is a good PPM level IMO, some peoples is over 300.

epson salt will help in the way of mag, but the CalMag still has numerous amounts of other micronutriants that the epson salt can't bring to the table.

Also, I am not saying that the CalMag will make or break your grow, it will just help more than some other addatives that may sound better. IMO CalMag is an assintial with RO water or water with a low PPM from what I have learned.
