grown on window ledge from june to july small and sickly looking so we put her in a greenhouse until late august where she flourished into a healthy 5 foot plant it was at this time that i decided to purchase a light 400w hps and bring her inside within days flouring began started feeding monsta bud at this stage too . got some bad advice was told to cut all the big leaves off to get more light at the buds progress slowed for a week or so but she recovered and the buds thickened in the last week stems have started to burst from the top buds and new tips are growing what does this mean? some buds will be ready for harvest in a few weeks but the new ones wont? will the growth in the old ones slow down and all be ready together? this is my first grow it only started as a laugh but weve been through it all now and i would like to finish it off right any advice would be appreciated:thumbsup:

if all the buds are not done at the same time just trim off the ones that are and let the rest continue to flower.you could potentially be harvesting for a loong time which is nice because you will always have smoke until you finally pick the last buds off.

she is quite nice looking by the way:)could be better but that will come with experience(?)very nice 1st grow

ello m8 very nice first grow.. :thumbsup: ... i would say get a 30x micro scope from the famous radioshack.. or any good electrical store.. then you can look at the trichomes to determine when to harvest.. basicly the trichomes start clear then go cloudy then amber.. harvesting with mostly coludy trichomes will give you a heady energy rush kind of high .. harvesting with say 80%cloudy and 20% amber will give you a very nice body heavy stone.. but you dont want to harvest with to much amber as this means the thc is degrading .. but if you like your stone heavy dont be affraid to let like 40% go amber..so the more amber the more chock lock body stone the more cloudy for a more heady stone.. allso the trichomes are at there peak when they are amber.. n u dont want any clear trichomes when you harvest unless you want a very light short lasting buzz.. allso just so you know in case you dont.. the trichomes are the sugar crystal looking things on the buds... happy growing happy harvest and good luck with it all :thumbsup:

allso your buds will put on the most weight on the last few weeks of there life.. so dont harvest too early.. as some1 else said if your top buds are ready but the bottom ones aint.. you can just snip off the ready buds and move the light abit closer to the bottom of the plant(s) n let them buds fatten up more... remember allso to flush your soil 1-2weeks prior to harvesting.. to do this simply pour like 5x the amount of water you would norm use through your soil.. or untill the water starts to come out nice and pure instead of yellow.. i recemend doing this inb the bath tub so water can easily flow through the pot and go straight down your plug n not on your floor.. in doing this you will be flushing all the salt build up out of your soil forcing your plants to use the last bit of food they have stored giving you a much cleaner nicer tasting bud then if you didnt flush..

i know shes not great but she has been through the wars judging by the beds how much longer has she got to go? and the new growth which has another 20 bud sights is this normal? it has been on a 12/12 cycle continuesly since sept flushing does that mean saturating the soil totally or can it be done with no nutes over a few days?

Do not trim your tops without flushing, thats bollox. You probly won't get much yeild. If you are having new vegetative growth then you've made a fuckup of the light/dark cycles. If you're getting new flowers then your light installment is working. Loose buds down below? You won't recover late on in your grow! You can try, but under 400W would be a waste of electric. 5 feet tall, looks whispy, probly 1.75Oz max IMO. Soldiers get double that. If I don't get banned, I will post a soldiers grow log

hey man lay off him a bit... god its his first grow.. and as he said it went through a lot.. he had it on the window sill at first and so on... i allso told him he should flush prior to harvesting .. i allso told him how to do it... the yield he will get really doesnt matter much for a first grow.. its experiance that counts.. im sure his next grow will be plenty bigger...

Judging by your pictures, I'd say you still have afew weeks left till harvest.
Looks like a nice Sativa you got there....might be many weeks :)
But the person who told you 1.75oz...forget that! you prolly have that right now.
Your worst enemy at the moment is the height of the plant. A 400w would have been nice from the start, with some training, but now it looks like you have an outdoor plant gone indoors at the wrong time. Penatrating the bottom branching structure will be difficult.
Do as mentioned and harvest the bud when need too. because of the situation that will be your best bet. This plant wont finish all at once.

Ps ....Anytime now I'd be willing to bet the weight is going to start to come on. Get yourself some nutes, and put her on a heavy diet for the next 2 weeks.

cheers for the advice feeding monsta bud 5 mls per litre of water been away for two days and the new tips at the top of the plant have grown another 6 inches with 20+ buds forming the branchs at the bottom are not getting much light im thinking of losing them to let the plant concentrate on th ones further up nearer the light any thoughts?:thumbsup:

:thumbsup: :thumbsup: decided not to trim the bottom branchs going to stick it out and hope for the best the stems growing out the top of the plant are multiplying at an alarming rate with dozens of buds forming looks like i could get a couple of harvests ive doubled the dosage of nutes as suggested and the older buds seem to have put on some weight in the last couple of days well good luck and keep the advice coming its been really helpful to this novice:thumbsup: :thumbsup:

looks to me as if some of these buds are nearly cooked some are around 60\40 white\amber what do you think?:thumbsup: ive positioned the light at the side about level with the top branches on a tilt downwards to try and penetrate the lower branchs is this a good idea or what?

decided to use the new growth at the top and try some cloning 1st attempt i took 3 cuttings dipped them in root powder and potted them straight away as you can see from the pics they are in flower with a few bud sites each ihave put them about 2 feet under my 400w hps on 12/12 im going to keep soil damp with just pure water these pics were taken 1 hour after ipotted them am i doing this the right way? the last pic is the top of the plant where i cut the clones :thumbsup:
