I was checking my half sisters myspace the other day and she has this video about proabition on there. She is 16, living in Texas, so I was wondering if she started smoking or if she just thought it was interessting. A few weeks ago my g/f and I were talking about how we see her smoking when she goes off to college. Her grades are pretty good from what I understand and she is 16, so I have no problem with her smoking. I'm just wondering the best way to confront her about it. Not to mention, I'm wondering if I should smoke with her the next time I visit. As I have said, I have no problem with her smoking at 16 as long as her grades stay up. She is rather mature for her age, but she tries to act older than she is.

There are two things I'm worried about if I do decide to smoke her out. One being my dad and step mom finding out. They still give me money to help pay the bills sometimes and do not want to get cut off. They are very over protective of her. Second, I'm worried about her telling her friends how cool it was to smoke with me, which will result in all her 16-17 year old friends pestering me when they see me and possibly saying something at the wrong moment. I wouldn't, but it isn't worth the hassle. It seems most of her friends have a crush on me, which is the reason I am afraid of them insisting I smoke with them. I suppose the fact I'm the older brother with long hair, in college, and with an accent. I really don't want to be pestered by underaged girls.

I'm thinking the best bet is to wait until she turns 18 and gets from under their roof. But at the same time, I want to be open with her about my smoking and share the experience with her.

Why don't you postpone your options where you half sister's concerned? She's still young. There's plenty of time for y'all to smoke and share experiences later. And you wouldn't want to put her at any risk or put yourself at any, either, if you made your dad and stepmom mad. Seems like the stakes are potentially somewhat serious there. And if your sis is interested, she can always initiate the discussion with you, right?

No I have not. But I know she won't tell me with out knowing my stance on the subject. We are all protective of her. And she would be afraid I think it is an evil drug and may talk to our dad about it. All I really want is to know and be able to talk to her about it if she is smoking.

Although I would suggest waiting untill she is older, if you feel like you are responsible enough to share toking with her, then do it. When I first asked my younger brother if he wanted to smoke, he said no, and that was the end of that.

Remeber not to add any preasure too, cause getting someone to smoke because it would be "cool" to smoke with them is lame.

Haha, yeah I mean weed. Not pressuring her to smoke is the problem I'm having. I don't want to let her know I smoke right now if she isn't doing it. For one reason, I don't want it to appear that I am giving premission to smoke. If she has already picked it up on her own though, I have no problem with it, assuming she continues to do good in school. If I tell her I smoke, and ask her if she as, I will only appear to be pressuring her to smoke. I suppose I will wait for her to etiher leave their house or tell me she does. I don't want to be the one who intoduces her to it and I'm worried if I ask and she isn't already smoking, than that is what I will be doing.

Oh and if she started smoking cigs, I would give her a hard kick in the ass. I hate that habit of mine.

BG gives some good advice,sorta the forum Mom... I would not take what she contributes lightly...

I would not mention the my space thing because I know I would go on the defensive at that point... Just be careful...

No I didn't see her smoking, if I said or implied that, I'm not sure why.

I am leaning more twords birdgirls advice. She is still only 16, better to wait until she is out from under their roof no matter what she is doing right now.
