so what else is new?

MTV has always been about "uncool". hyping this, hyping that, more commercial than the commercials it shows. not to mention the fact that they've damn near killed the concept of "music". "if it doesn't look good, it can''t be good" seems to be the message that they've tried to foist off on an entire generation. amazingly enough (and this is hard for an old technophobe like me to admit), the internet may be the only hope that "music" has to evolve without those tired old madison ave. constraints. the internet and of course the underground.

sorry for the minor rant and i know i'm not really saying anything new, but the suits really piss me off!!!

The internet is one enormous commercial itself.

Don't get me wrong. It enables human beings for the first time in history to instantly communicate knowledge and ideas around the world. It has to be one of the top 3 greatest inventions of all time.

The internet is saturated with consumers, and where there are consumers there are corporations studying them, catering to them, and then eventually dictating to them.

the suits really piss me off!!!

They piss me off, too.

Too creepy how often this stuff slips under the radar.
Are adults just as suceptible (sp?) to this?

Hell yes, they are.

You can especially see it in politics. They do their own brand of market research, but they call it polling, and they create characters that will appeal to their target audience, and get votes.

I gave up on MTV a long time ago, used to play alright stuff...back in the late 80's... All it is about now is superficial media and stupid shows like Andy Milinokis...I do not care if I spelt that wrong because its probley not his real name anyways....

I thought it was funny how they rented a place and paid kids $50 each to fill it up and "look cool." Then they show it on mtv like it's some kind of big event going on.
