Man they dropped a Steve Irwin joke :stoned:

"youd die faster than steve irwin in a tank full of stingrays"

Also, they killed a 5 year old with lukemia!

Seriously, southpark has never offended me, Ive always laughed at everything theyve done, but that steve irwin joke got me.

Now Im not outraged or anything like that, but I grew up watching that crazy australian do his thing on top of alligators, and theyre dicks for crackin on him.

This actually makes two weeks in a row they've done this. Last night though it was kind of repetitive....several cracks about Steve.

Have a good one!

Of course they just messing around :D The whole POINT of southpark is to OFFEND!

This season of Southpark is kinda going downhill. The WoW episode was pretty damn good, but I havent been overly impressed with their material lately. They seem to be running dry.

i think its funny, because if anyone has ever seen paulie shore is dead steve irwin dying and suddenly being a hero is honestly like that movie being brought to life, a guy who was a joke his whole life then being considered a hero cause he died. i guess irwin had his fans. either way i think its funny when they make fun of him but am not glad he died. but i cant pretnd to be sad when someone who had no effect on me dies. shit if i did that id be overcome with grief all the time. he got impaled by a stingray

How could you call Steve Irwin a joke? if it wasnt for people such as steve irwin, we wouldnt know HALF the shit we we know now about animals if it wasnt for people like him. So now, quit being IGNORANT and get your head outta your ass.

Thank you.

South Park has always said controversial stuff....sometimes, though it's obvious that they say things JUST to cause a stir!

heres something i guess steve never learned about animals. dont fuck around with stingrays or youll get you ass impaled. i guess he learned that lesson a little too late

hell id know that youd think an animal genius like irwin would. here is a free lesson, more important than all of steves. you fuck around with deadly animals for too long you end up dead. end of story. they dont like it, even if steve says they do, theyd rather not be disturbed by a crazy australian stereotype

Yeah that is kind of fucked. It doesn't bother me though.. But I bet Irwins wife would freak out if she heard that.

And about Steve being a hero.. he DID do alot of stuff for Australia's wildlife. His zoo works on repopulating endangered species constantly. So even though he fucked with animals and pissed them off alot, he did alot of help too :p

But youre missing MY point. WITHOUT PEOPLE LIKE HIM PUTTING THEMSELVES IN SITUATIONS LIKE THAT THEN WE WOULDNT KNOW HARDLY SHIT ABOUT THEM. Got that?

11-16-2006, 08:52 PM
uh we had plenty of facts about animals before he died. there is a way to go about learning about animals than going out in the wild with a camera ngnd grabbing them. steve irwin wasnt a scientist. he didnt tetach the world one new thing about animals, not one. he ust reinforced dont fuck around with deadly animals. ill give him credit he donated a lot to things against poachers and made people more aware of poachers and endangered species, but that really has more to do with him using his fame than teaching us about animals. feel free to look it up before you start talking out of your ass, steve erwin didnt make one new discovery about animals, leave that to the scientists, not the crock wrestlers. got that? ridiculous. i know you like your memories of seeing steve erwin mo and his cute australian accent. thats fine, but i dont think he is a legend or a hero and i sure as hell dont think he made a big difference as far as knowledge of wildlife. thank you, and next time dont tell me to pull my head out of my ass when you are just going to make things up like without people like steve erwin(aka tv hosts) we wouldnt know half of what we know about animals.

A person doesn't need to be a hero or be on TV to be qualified for crude jokes. It's a human life, and I bet it would be different if it were your own family member, friend, or someone you admired. How would you like it if your mother passed away from cancer and people go and make jokes about it? Or if your fav. musician or actor died in an accident and someone made a joke about it? It's not funny and South Park has gotten older than a stale piece of dog shit that's been buried in the snow all year. It's a human life, and tragedies are nothing to joke about.

Think about this next time someone cracks a joke about all those people who died in 9/11, or Iraq, or if someone posted a picture of Osoma skating on ice, around the old Wolrd Trade Centers, smiling, dancing, with a bazooka in his hands. Hmmm, not so funny.

if you are right, then i am wrong with everything i said, i think you are wrong but dont know myself. either way i think if you mess around with deadly animals long enough one of them is going to kill you. to me it is a law of nature. i dont hate steve erwin, he died doing what he loved, good on him there, i just dont like how he is being treating as a world changing hero when if he did all his humanitarian things and wasnt on tv he would have ended up like dust in the wind. i dont know. not into people getting glory and credit for dying, we are all capable of it

I agree. he got a little too cocky with his work. First it was 'crocks, him getting more and more brave with every take. He got too brave and paid the price for it.

Not the first time it's happened.

Totally agree with you...it was on again last nite and I didn't even want to watch it - Didn't think it was that funny...the older ones are MUCH better - that Nintendo Wii one was pretty lame, too imo !

I don't know, I enjoyed it. I even enjoyed the two episodes where they basically just ripped on atheists. They've got their own twisted brand of humor, and if you don't like it, then go watch something else.

People are only angry about the Steve Irwin thing because it's a recent event. Nobody would say shit if they made a joke about the Lincoln assassination.

Well, they were partially making fun of how many atheists think getting rid of religion would solve all the world's problems. And how atheists can never seem to agree on a single name for themselves (remember that whole "brights" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brights) thing?)

I miss the SP days when they were poking fun at Jews, and when Cartmen had an anal probe. :p

I only watch the earlier ones, the new ones are just repeats, but of shittier versions, of the old ones.

I just don't find it funny when they make fun at other peoples misfortunes. I hope someone makes fun of the creators when they die, then I'll laugh. :D

The Nitendo one sucked eggs and this one is the first time I killed it with my clicker... I understand they have to keep it fresh and cross the bar but,,,making comedy out of peoples pain is unbalanced to me... the comedy stops and I start feeling for the hurt people that may be watching... Poking fun at religion or beliefs does not bother me a bit...

Oh come on people. Even in the older ones, they had an 8-year-old little boy (Kenny) tragically dying in every episode. Sometimes the other characters would even burst out laughing immediately following his death. But I don't remember anybody complaining about that.

i really dont care how many people are offended. if you are easily offended and watch that show you are doing it to have something to bitch about because you know thats what they do. and honestly, if you get offended by a cartoon tv show on comedy central its probably about time to lighten up, or like i just said dont watch something where you know they go out of their way to offend everyone. i think they are trying way too hard to keep it fresh, when it first started the episodes were somewhat relevant to the issues of the day, but they werent honing in on the exact issue and they didnt seem arrogant about their opinions. also they could show them without just saying this is what we feel about the issue. and there were some that werent relevant at all and were damn funny. they dont have to keep ti t fresh to keep it funny trying too hard to do that is why it isnt as good any more. it is still one of the best shows on tv sadly enough though unless you shotime bo or digital cable. all the good shows are on premium channels.

He's a cartoon character! :p Cartoons aren't real life, they are a drawing, big difference.

Anyways, why argue over the stupid show anyways, so pointless. :p

That was different,,,Kenny was not in a bed dying with cancer,he was more like Wile E. Coyote getting run over by a truck...

I like south park quite a bit. Its tasteless and makes fun of everyone. If you don't like that then you probably shouldn't watch the show. The newer episode where satan is having a costume party and then steve erwin walks in was pretty tasteless. It caught me off guard for a couple then i thought it was funny later. Come on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine!!!

I believe the whole point of that "dreadful ending" was to do exactly the opposite of what people expect is going to happen. They were ripping on the predictability of movies.

Stan even said "according to every movie that's ever been made, we are going to win this game."
