So, we've all heard the saying that you don't get high the first time you smoke weed right? Where did this come from?

The first time I smoked, I was blazed out of my mind, so I don't understand where this came from? Is it because first timers aren't inhaling the right way? Because as long as you inhale and hold to let the THC get in your system, shouldn't you by all rights get baked?

Can anybody make any sense of this or is it bullshit? Also share if you got high or not your first time. Peace :rasta:

some people dont inhale right, they jsut get the smoke in there mouth like when you smoke a cigar(dont give me shit, i know some inhale cigars) and if they actually do inhale, some might not realize there high. I heard of some cases like that.

ya for sure, some definitely dont inhale right, and then others dont know if they are high... my cousin blazed with me the for the first time the other night and he was high as hell... i would ask him if he was high and he was all im not really sure.. or i dont know.. it was funny

I got high on my first try, but i smoked ciggs before so i knew how to inhale and take it in.

some people's cannabinoid receptors aren't active yet, so they just wont' get high, it takes a few times for some people's to kick in, i got blazed as hell the first time i smoked, but i've known plenty of people who have smoked cigarettes, know how to smoke properly, that don't get high their first time... so it's not a matter of the user not knowing how to use it....

I was deffinatly flying my first time. Uncontrolable laughter over every little thing. It was great. Got a couple buds high their first time and they were deffinatly high.

it's different for everyone. I first smoked at age 12 and had already smoked cigarettes and knew how to inhale. I wasn't blazed till my third time, and I had to rip the bong about 20 times, plus walk around for 30 seconds before it kicked in, but when it did, I realized i had found my calling.

haha i remeber the first time i smoke i was 12 and i picked some leaves off an immature plant my stepdad was growing in the window lol. i rolled a shitty little first timer joint and of course i didnt get high. the next day i really smoked with some friends properly and got more blazed than i ever have been since then. i think the first time is the best.

I got high my first time. Not the best high I've ever had though. This one night I blazed a dime to myself and got baked. I thought the shit was laced so I went to sleep. It was weird but great.

I didn't get high the first time I smoked weed. I had never even smoked a cigarette before, so I had no idea how to inhale properly.. as stupid as it sounds. Once somebody explained to me it's like sucking through a straw, I got high. Best advice I ever recieved, no matter how lame it is. :)

took me about 4 or 5 tries and im sure i was inhaling right. think i jsut didnt know what to expect so the effects jsut didnt really come.

well... I think its true that some people don't get high their first time. I have a friend from israel and he smokes ciggarrettes and hookah all the time. He knows how to inhale... we smoked with him 4 times and he never got high until one night he starting bursting out laughing for nothing. I think there has got to be some science behind it because we smoked the same shit out of the same way every single time.

I definitely inhaled my first time. I don't see how I couldn't have. Its just like breathing in...I mean how else do you get the smoke to come, especially when you are smoking from a bowl.

I didn't feel anything though, the next time I definitely got high, inhaled the same way.

Theres definitely some science behind it.

The first time I smoked I for sure did not get high, I never smoked anything else before so I had no idea how to smoke. I remember taking one toke and my lungs burned soooo bad, I was just coughing and thinking, "Damn, this is not even fun..." But sometime after that I smoked and well.. you know the rest;)

first times i smoked were the best. everything i heard was so magnifyed i was actually kind of scared. everything was in different shades of color and i felt like i couldnt even move. then i started to feel like i was being pushed into the ground. the only thing was that i started 2 get really freaked out but in a good way. lol, it was really cool. i only experienced that about 5 times and those were my first. now i just get normally high.:stoned:

if you dont know how to inhale, you would die of lack of oxygen. you cant not inhale and not know it, its called breathing.

You can draw from the joint or whatever, and then inhale, and keep most of the smoke in our mouth. Most poeple give newbies shitty advice.

When you tell someone to inhale, tell them inhale from their mouth. Have them suck the J like a straw, and then take a deep breath from the mouth! I know it's obvious to most, but some people don't understand how it works

The first time i smoked weed i got sooooo stoned!! I already had been smoking ciggs so I knew how to inhale properly. I was living in Hawaii at the time so i was smoking hawaiian bud (very good shit)

I got high the first time. In fact, I got way too high after one bowl, and started to get paranoid, and started to panic. I saw in "frames of perception" as I call it, and it was pretty fucked up. Thought I was going to die from a heart attack. I thought it was laced, but my friend assured me it wasn't, but I didn't believe him. Now I do believe him, because I take Strattera (for ADHD). Strattera seems to increase the high by like 3x, AT LEAST. It also supposedly can possibly cause cardiac arrest when smoking marijuana after taking it. Now I plan ahead, so I don't take Strattera a day before I toke up. I was almost not gonna smoke weed again after my first experience, but I realized it was either Strattera, or I smoked too much for my first time.
