hi all,
I'm just so happy I have to share with you well because, I have no one else to tell right now! :p
After a few months of burning through my home selling earnings, and burning it fast, I found a new, laid back, easy ass job. The snow season has hit us now and at one of the malls here in the city, they need someone to remove snow. I thought to myself, okay, it'll be good exercise to shovel snow, and it's only 5hrs a day, not bad cash, fuck it, why not. Turns out I remove snow using a small assed tractor. :p Enclosed cab, heated, radio w/CD player, for a fixed salary of $1200 per month.
It's a huge ass mall and it would take me a few days alone to clear the entire permiter. We do the parking lots, the sidewalks, everything. I've driven many tractor lifts and bucket lifts back in a rock yard I used to work at, so I have a license for small lift trucks/tractor lifts/bucket loaders that I earned, so they accepted me basically right on the spot.
It'll be a good time. Those things are like driving a big toy pretty much. I'm pumped! Bring on the snow! :p
Peace.

Congrats man, now just prey for no drug tests.
Drug test? What's that? ;)
Nah, no drug testing around here. There was a line on the bottom of the application that said, "Your employment depends on a clean drug test" and I asked about it, and they just said it was for their truck drivers, not the little snow tractor.
These tractors are smaller than a compact car. Very small indeedy. :)

You bet I'll be working stoned! When I get the hang of things that is of course. $1200 a month is plenty for me to live on. Total rent and utilities cost me about $1000 a month in an apartment, but that's Vancouver for you. I'm having a buddy move in next week, so the cost will be cut in half, which means more $$$'s for Chowder. :p

Then I guess I don't work. :p Nah, we clear more than 1 site to keep us busy, but the mall during the X-mas season is important to them. Even if there isn't anything to do, I'm sure they would find some general maintenence work for us to do. Even if I don't work, I'm on a fixed salary so I get paid anyways. :)
Good for you! You guys must get a lot of snow up there! Has it started snowing yet?

Yes, you bet it has started snowing. It's not mega cold or nothing, but we have had a number of snowfalls already. Not surprising for mid. Nov., in Canada. :p

Congratz NoChowder :) sounds like a cushy job :) and I could never live in Vancouver, but then again Nelson is pretty pricey too, me and the wife live in a 3 bedroom house for 785 a month, sounds like a sweet deal, but its insulated very well so this winter we are going to freeze are asses off, and the rooms are small, so its basically a 2 bedroom lol
Good luck at your job! and a fixed salary that sounds great!

Nice work dude! Sounds like a pretty sweet job for the money it pays.
I think it'd be fun to drive around in a lil tractor thing clearing snow while you're blazed. But like ya said, make sure you know what the heck you're doin first. :)
Good luck!

Oh yes, def. I usually work there for a few weeks before I start going in high, and hell, it's only 5hrs every night, so I can wait until I get home.
Thanks for the comments and encouragement people!
And orangeman, something will come through for ya soon bro! :smokin:

Yeah, it's going to be a cool job. I like working on my own the most, so it's perfect for me. It's warm today though and the snow is starting to melt, so I'm curious what they will have in store for me when there is no work to be done. Probably general maintaining or something easy like that.
I'm off right now to fill out paper work. It feels weird not being high yet. :p
