Can I Turn Lights to 12/12?

ok i got a 2 1/2, 3 week old plant. i want a VERY small first grow. i started with seeds so i know i have to wait longer then if i had clons. right now im growing my 5th true leafs. is it time?

i figured give it another week then turn to 12/12 but what do yall think?

hiya mate i usually wait till they are about 12 to 13inch tall then switch to 12/12

Unless your plant is ready, it's kind of pointless... give it some time and really I think it's best to wait until the plant shows alternating nodes.

lol i forgot to mention that my plant is on its 5th alternating nodes (showing its 5th set of true leafs in the middle)

Wait-5th node or 5th ALTERNATING node... because the first bunch of nodes will be OPPOSITE, like how the leaves pop out of what looks like the same spot on opposite sides of the main stem. When they are alternating then the main stem will take on a vaguely zigzagged appearance.

ok there are the two round leafs. then there is the 2 single bladed leafs on one each side. then there is the the first set of true leafs poping out of the steam out of the same spot on the oppisit side. then there are 4 more of these goin up the steam so i have 4 alternading true leafes nodes whatever you want to call them. then there is the 5th true alternading leafs nodes what have ya about a quarter inch growing in the center in the next week there will be 5 alternading True leafs

You've got 'opposite' placement still. The 1st pic in the 'weird you gotta see this ' thread shows a good angle where you can see alternate placement really well.
That plant probably wants another month of veg. And it would like its roots back in the dark now please, too! :D

*raises brow* my plant isn't that small. thats not even my plant pulled it out of the Image Galleries. in a week or less she'll be a foot or more tall.

give it ANOTHER month? im on day 21-22. i checked that picutre out. on the 'weird you gotta see this" thread.

so alternading is when the leafs come out of dif spots of the stem and not in the same spot on the oppisite side? yeah all i got is single leafs out of the steams on each side of the steam on the same spot.

so i have to wait tell she JUST starts to zig zag. or do i have to a certin amount of zigs in the zags?

quick question why an't my other babie growing at all. she gots teh first set of true leafs and thats it. she an't dead she just seems to be in a single state of mind (meaning she an't growing anymore but an't dead) she is develpoing yellow on the leafs that is outlined in brown.

The earliest to top is around the fourth node. Since you have 5 you can top. I would only suggest topping if you have a limited grow space. Any stress you can avoid then I suggest you avoid it. Also, as stinky said, wait till the nodes alternate and the preflowers show. Then your plant is ready to flower. The wait is well worth it in the finished product.

As soon as you see the 1st zig in the zag it's ready.

i got about 15-20 in. of grow space. what is more recommended? LST or Toping?

also i read up on LST but a few questions. are my Side leafs goin to turn into the main steam(s) and do the zig zag and is this goin to double the amount of time for veging?

LSTing is awesome. I wish I knew about it before I would have LST'd my plant earliest. Let's see, when I LST'd my plant, all the side leaves turned towards the light and now it looks like I have a bunch of mini plants growing on this long stem.

would probably lst but with your limited space you may have to start flowering while its nice to veg until they are mature it isnt always possible if attempting to grow in small spaces they, will continue to grow during the first 3-4 weeks of flowering so you have plenty of time to still do some training.

The side leaves stay as they are, but a new stem will grow from the base of each fan.

What does 15-20in. mean?? Height?? Width?? Length?? If you only have that much height and your plant is already a foot tall, I would LST immediately and then probably switch to 12/12 to avoid running out of room.
