.

I've heard this several times, that you can't put flours on a timer.
Why is that? And what should one do about that?

Last time I was checking out flours at a shop, the guy warned me about using a timer on them. In fact, he said: "You're not going to use times on them, are you?" which I took to be a warning of something. When he asked me that, I seemed to remember having heard before that flours should not be run on timers.

Some flours come with built in ballasts and some without, perhaps it has to do with that?

Edit:
Gunge, you're right, I was mixing them up.
Thanks.

When you order many fluoro set ups from hydro shops they come with timers.

Ok mechanical timers will work , but the electronics timers may goof up. Just get the timmer with the little pins red green , lots of them out there at xmas time. About 6-10 bucks, plan ahead they only last about 10-15 years.

I have 2 timers, I just mixed timer up with dimmer, cos I'm dumb.
My HPS is old, but flours is a new field for me.

my flouros don't go on a timer because it has a pullchain to turn the bulbs on. could i bypass the switch and build it to always be on?

Yes. Should be. Just plug them in, then pull the chain so they go on, and then set them on a timer. The timer will turn them off and on. Let us know.

G'luck all.

The timer has an outlet in it. Plug the whole fixture into the outlet. Set the timer. Problem solved.

I thought I had dissappeared. I was like,

"DAMN, that's some good weed! Makes you invisible! I'll be rich!"

No go, though...no invisible-cloak cannabis. :(
