need game ideas

so i have $50 and want to get a new video game. it has to be for ps2, preferably a shoot-em-up/war type game. i need ideas and opinions

That new Tom Clancy game they've been advertising a lot looks so good. I forget the name, but it seems like one hell of a game. ~

I'm lovin the tony hawk games because they're fun and addicting. Also (ive never played it, but my friends love it) there is Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. If you really want a shooter game alot of my friends love socom. Sorry if it were xbox i'd recommend gears of war and halo.

i really didnt' like this game, at all.... seemed more of something you'd find on regular ps, as opposed to ps2, graphics sucked, horribly... wasn't much for the online play either...

i'd suggest killzone, only 20 bucks and, atleast for me, the online play never gets old... however if you're looking for something to play offline, i really couldn't tell you, since i've gotten heavy into online games, any game offline just doesn't seem quite capable of capturing and holding my attention... speaking of which i think ima bout to put in MC3

yeah splinter cell games are pretty good, i forgot all about that game, it kept my attention.... least the one i have (chaos theory) but that's not exactly a shoot 'em up game, more of a sneak around in the shadows and take everyone out one by one, then if you get spotted, get ready for a fire fight (and believe me when i say they did not have good intentions for the hero in these games, they can take you out just as quick as you can take them out... and they just fucking love headshots >.<)

i coulda swore stories was already out, i know it's out on psp, but i thought i remember a friend of my wife's telling me about playing it, beating it in a few days, and that the graphics are just as good, if not better than SA...

eitherway, while trying to find out on gamestop.com if gta:vcs was out on ps2 i found a game i'm now looking forward to <.< lol.... medal of honor : airborne... can't wait to get that one...

lol i'm still reading your reviews... some i agree with, some i find errors in, and some i just find plain wrong... while i do agree, vice city (btw, i think you meant to put GTA3 when you put vice city on the list of games...) and even gta 3 had a better story line, i still would much rather have everything SA unlocked for us, that gta 3 and vice city didn't, i mean the playable land mass is just so much larger it's no contest.... not to mention the playable land mass is much more realistic, then vice city, don't get me wrong, i love having to dodge around traffic to keep from the cops and swat, but i think having to take the whole chase off road, through unimaginable, grueling enviroments and possibly jumping your car straight into a river/lake is just much more realisitic and enjoyable... i'd much rather be able to jump into a rancher and take the entire chase striaght through a forest/woods hilllands and the middle of nowhere the being stuck to mostly streets/jumps...

as for resident evil 4 being one of the greatest games, and even deserviving a title in this list, i for one think not... the game just go way too old way to fast... not to mention the play value.... i've never actually played 4, but i've seen someone play it for extensive lengths of time, i never once wanted to pick up the controller... reisdent evil 4 didn't offer much more than any other RE game has, other then the new views, weapons, smarter and faster zombies, and new story line.... (even tho of course, the story line still ties to the first game ever made, i'm more getting at the story line of how the person(s) you play as got involved in it all...) resident evil was and still is a classic... resident evil 4? i have to give a thumbs down, nothing has really been original since the first game.... just new sites/weapons/enemies/story lines...

If you want a game thats fun when your sober or fucked up and has a very high replay value, have to go with Guitar hero!! youll play that game for ages man....

yeah man, KILLZONE online is AWESOME !!:thumbsup: at least there is still lots of playas on the US servers....also TimeSplitters:FuturePerfect is an excellent game, both on & off line....:D
