Organic soil growers dont need ph up / down?

I was just talking to a grow store owner, very experienced. He told me not to buy a ppm meter because if I am using all organic fertilizer / soil the " micro community " will keep my PH perfect. Just to make sure I follow a proven feeding plan with the right ferts and water.

Any suggestions , opinions or links to help me learn more about organic soil growing , problems with it, nutes to use - ect..?

I am using foxfarm grow big , big bloom products mainly since I can get them at a good price thru a friend. I like using a tiny bit of molasseses and peroxide during watering also.

Don't use peroxide with organic nutes, it can break down the beneficial microbes and bacteria. Think about it, peroxide attacks bacteria's in organic ferts bacterial microbes are the building blocks. I wonder if that is one of your problems as you were wondering on another thread.
I grow in organic soil, Black Gold and I still ph down to approx 6.3, and my nutes have built in buffers that help me stay in that range.
I would suggest any grower, hydro, soil, soilless and organic to use a PH meter.

PS. the Peroxide use is the same in hydro, you don't use it with organic nutes. Also, in hydro it is there to help oxygenate the water and fend off bacterial infestation, but in organic like I said the bacterial game is different.

Cool thanks for the opinion, makes sense to me for sure.

I have done some research doesn't sound like a hot idea. I have never used this though, the only thought came to mind when I'm noticing I didn't give my plants enough nitrogen what so ever. I gave them very little :X So they are just a bit pissed off I;m not sure how to fix it. I was thinking since pots are still bit damp, have been for a week - that if I watered with peroxide I would have less of a risk of root problems from watering a bit soon.

Not sure how to fix them and get them growing again so I can bud some day.


Ill show my most recent pics, and main problem atm again is the fact they arnt growing :X They are under 2000 watts of light, 74 degree on top of the plants or so, 40% humidity, 3 fans. Tons and tons of fresh air.

Some might recomend a higher humitity, but I doubt that this would be the overall problem, and as for the picks, vision isn't good enough to see them. I have read your other thread and I am alufe to the reason for the stop of growth. How far away do you keep the lights? and do you have a perlite cut in the soil?
I would try to get better control of the PH instead of just letting it go where it wants.

Hum like 20 inches from the lights now, and yah it has peralite in it, its sunshine mix #4 , I added a little extra parelite but not much.
