After a long time of my father knowing, my mom just found out that I am a stoner. We talked, at first she was freaking out, but then I gave her the facts, and even offered it to her whenever she was in pain from work. I pretty much convinced her when I said:
"Mom, it's a harmless plant that God put on this green earth"
Having a Christian family kicks ass I must say, she was kinda fine with it... I could tell that she was still worried though, and she gave me the rule of buying no more than $20 worth at once.
Then I left the house and came back with 5 grams of 5 different strains.
So anybody got stories of when their parents found out?

You are lucky, very very lucky.
If my parent's found out, I would be kicked out.

hey, thought I would share my own story here as well. my parents found a bag of weed in my room. dad wanted to send me a rehab right away. my brother fortunately covered for me and said it was his bag. he had to move out that day and i got off scott free. kinda nice but a huge bummer at the same time.
the bright side was my bro got his own place and i eventually was at his new place all the time. my bro and i are still very close to this day. but in my parents eyes drugs meant rehab, jail, no exceptions. i would sneak in the house at night all hella baked just praying. "please lord let me get too my room unnoticed, thank you jesus."

when my mom caught me the first time she basically said "if your gonna be doing something like that id rather you do it at my place then somewhere i dont know whats gonna happen to you" so every since then, about 3 years ago, i just toke at my place and shes fine with it. "pick your battles" she says. she knows i wont drink cuz of the abundance of alcholism in my family so shed rather pot than being like my alchoholic father. i even got her medicinal marijuana eventually but she hardly uses her recommendation any more which is sad...but yeah im pretty lucky my moms cool with it.

I remember when my mom found out...we were at dinner with her and her friend and she asked me if I had ever smoked a blunt, and I said yeah.
From then on(that was like...years)..I smoke her out all the freakin' time.
My dad and I have never been close, I see him like twice a year...last time I stayed at his house...over a year or so ago..my boyfriend and I went for a walk to smoke, and I realized I couldn't go for a walk without inviting my dad. So I invited him along, lit up a joint with no warning....and he took a hit.
So yeah, my folks are chillll with it.

In fact my mom is so chill with it..that when she came to visit me 3 weeks ago she bought me an 8th.
She said she wanted half, but then she ended up giving me the whole thing anyway!

I keep trying to get my mom to use medical pot due to the debilitating back pain from a car crash and the debilitating emotional pain from her losing a husband, but she keeps whining about how she could lose her law license, which is fuckin bullshit, like theres gonna be a bunch of DEA agents bustin into the house as she takes her first hit... lol DROP THE JOINT AND PUT YOUR HANDS UP. It would help her more than the wellbutrin and the tramadol and the Ibu and the vicodin and all that shit that she takes for the pain.

She's just being cautious, GreenD. What sounds like a great idea to you is understandably less appealing to a professional adult. And if, in the very unlikely event that she did get busted or even seriously accused, the state bar could indeed pull her bar card or sanction her license or even just append a notation to her bar number saying such a thing had occurred. She's a well-educated adult, and I think she's wise not to take that risk. I'm more than a year and a half away from taking my first medical board exams--and 3 1/2 years away from graduating. And as crazy as it may sound to a young person, I won't risk smoking weed even now. Haven't since early last August before I began school when Bess had the last of her medical mj. It wouldn't do my husband's medical license or reputation any good to have a wife who took that risk. And it's important to me as someone who's going to take an oath to be ethical and beneficial in my practice of medicine to be completely above reproach about doing anything illegal, even while I'm in school.
Your mom's just doing the same thing. And someday, you'll admire her for that. Try and give her a break, OK?

Well I guess you may be right, but the risk of getting caught is so low, compared to the benefits she would reap if she smoked some of this blueberry or matanusk i had this week.

"You need to go to church, Mr!"
j/k
Moms was pretty cool about it. Hell, she smoked herself, but never around me. Just seemed odd for some reason. My dad on the other hand, well...I won't get started on him.
Actually, I will...
"If you EVER get involved with drugs. I will BEAT you!"
The rest is history...

My dad is real chill with it, I smoke with him all the time. Sometimes we'll smoke and then hit a bar or something, it's great...sadly he is dead set against blunts (although he did admit he got real high off one I rolled to smoke w/ him once). My mom is perfectly cool with it, I actually roll blunts/pack bowls right in front of her.
I also attend college, have had the same part time job for over 5 years, and I frequently help around the house. They say that matters more then anything, everyone has their vices and as long as I keep up doing what I'm doing they don't really care what I do (bar hard drugs of course, but I don't really fancy them so it hopefully will never become an issue).
I was extremely paranoid that they'd find out, but was glad they were cool with it....especially my dad .
Sadly, not all parents are like that...one of my friend's mom/dad probably would die of heart attacks if they knew their daughter toked up on occasion (especially since one of them is an ex-cop hehe).

my mom found out that i smoked when i was really stoned and i acidently pulled out the bag of weed in my pocket instead of the change from buying the pizza. she didn't say anything and the next day she came up to my room woke me up and had a talk with me about if i ever did it again, she would start smoking it too (she never experimented with MJ) and i guess what she was trying to do was scare me out of doing drugs which she has managed for a while (2-3 months) but i was dragged back into it because... well because everyone was doing it :D yeah but anyways my mom still dosen't know i toke here and there mostly because i'm alot more careful now. ;)

I would have agreed myself. Since basically everyone (except people who ignore obvious facts) knows that you can't really get physically hooked on cannabis (and not even mentally without repeated use), and since it won't kill you or harm you...why not try it, even as a parent. If she did try it, unless she gets all panicky (which happens to me if I smoke and go out in public sometimes) she'd probably be cool with it.

maybe i'm just greedy or self centred, i don't care, all i know for sure is that i don't want my mom, who has kept her principles and decided not to try cannabis smoke weed because i decided to.
ye but anyways i sure wish my mom was down with the reefer:o

I know they know, but I still try to hide it. They were cool with weed, i don't know why they quit and turned against it though.

I hear ya man, I guess it just depends on the parents and your relationship with them. I was imagining your mom as being very curious, but it sounds like she was more like,
"If you're going to ruin your life, I'll do the same you terrible son!"

i think the kick ass thing is that most of our parents are from the 60's or 70's where they smoked hella weed. so who are they to tell us not too.

My parents don't care about alcohol that much, my mom ended up finding out about the drugs though and she almost sent me to rehab. I talked to her about it and she lets be do it on weekends (so I can come home baked). On weekdays though when I blaze, she'll never find out, ever.

We were allowed to smoke at home. She said she'd rather have us home then out "corvorting with junkies". lol
We had many a small parties in our section of the house and lots of good times. Sometimes, she'd come upstairs and complain about the smell. lol

My entire side of my Dads side smokes, except for Granny. My moms side definatly doesnt. So the first time my Dad found out was up camping when me and my buddy got back from a hike completly baked. Later that night we all went acouple rounds after dinner. I eventually told my Mom, she was kind of disapointed at first but now it doesnt bother her. I still am yet to get her stoned though, maybe someday

When my dad found out, he asked me if I had any to sell him. My mom didn't really have a reaction eventhough she didn't smoke. I grew up seeing my dad smoke and it wasn't a big deal.

My parents found out deffinitly when I failed my father/boss's drug screen. He didn't care so much, kind of turned a blind eye to it.
I cooled it down some and he always avoided the subject and I come in late every night. All was good until I got busted in April for possession.
