That's a simple one. A few factors involved.

Because up recent history we've been a church-going nation and the Hebrews are "God's Chosen People". Armagedon is supposed to be focused around Israel and we want to be sure we're on the winning side. (Pat Robertson wants to be able to take church field trips to the Holy land and build Jesusworld amusement parks on the banks of the Sea of Galalee.)

The second factor is very wealthy and powerful Jewish coalitions influencing media and politics to keep attitudes and sentiments favorable to Israel. (no, not illuminati bullshit but probably as close as it gets.)

And third because of the Holocaust. There's a certain degree of guilt and sympathy for a dislodged people that everyone's tried to exterminate over the course of history. (of course it didn't help them much when their philosophy throughout history was that they were 'God's chosen People' and everyone else are dogs.) They actually do have a right to exist as a Nation and everyone knows, at least on that point, that it's the right thing to do. Now if they would just learn to treat their neighbors better and stop treating them like dogs, maybe they wouldn't bring down so much grief on themselves and those who support them.

I don't want Bush impeached. He's now been essentially hamstrung by the change in the legislatures' majorities, and he's going to be like a lame duck chief executive for two more years, but he'll be one who'll block any and all progress the two congressional bodies try to make. What'll be telling will be the election two years from now.

Impeachment woudln't be good for anyone, including both political parties, our citizens or our economy.

I think a majority of the pro-israel beliefs are mere opinions and much more.

The fact is, Israel is the only democracy in the middle east.
