Few more pics from week 5 of flowering with our Trainwreck and week 2 with the Cindy 99.

At the rate the trichromes are going cloudy, we are thinking 2.5-3 weeks from now. This will also enable us to get our new grow setup (most likely 30 Cindy 99 plants, vegged for about 3-4 weeks) and finish with time before I move again. I have never seen such orange hairs on Trainwreck before. Im excited. The crystals are beautiful. The buds are fattening up.

Cindy 99s are doing nice. They are all around 9-12" tall with a great internode length (very tight). I will be plenty happy with 1/4 oz from each and it looks very attainable. Despite the low amount of odor the C99 have (the TW is peeeyouuu), when you get up clsoe and rub your fingers...its great. 2 Purples on the side doing swell but only figure around an 8th each. This is fine, they will be samples. The Skunk #1 are doing great, however I am less then impressed so far with the LST vs. Natural. The natural seems to be growing more vigurously.

Hey racer, if you don't mind me asking, where did you find the beans for C99? I've been looking for awhile man, I've always wanted a good indoor sativa :rasta:

Oops I forgot the Cindy pics!

I dont use seeds in general. I hate the waiting and the sexing. I obtained a few clones from a friend (who grew them from seed) flowered most, kept 2 to mother. I just chopped another 40 today that are going to go in the 2 light flowering room when the Trainwreck finishes. Out of the 40 Ill pick 30 to go in 1 gallons and after a few weeks of veg, they will go into 3 gallons.

Anyways, here are some pics. Cindy 99, Skunk #1, Purps, and another Trainwreck that got stuck in there.

The biggest news today is that I picked up 2 new clones for mothers. Extremely excited. A true Blueberry and a true Grapefruit. They are very healthy, very rooted, and going in 1 gallons tomorrow. Super stoked, I have wanted Blueberry for along time and with our recent low temps I am hoping for some purple.
Today the biggest news

I was going to ask where you got your TW, but you said that you don't like clones and if I remember right you can't get TW in seed form?
How long did you veg the C99 for?
Also, what kind of yield do you expect with a 3 week veg and 3 gallon pots off each plant approx?
Adieu

Yeah, I hate the waiting and sexing too, but unfortunately there are no clones to be had around here unless you make them yourself.

Yeah I dont like seeds but sometimes you gotta start from there. I have one pair of seeds I planted a couple months ago. One is flowering, one is a mother plant. Ive been waiting to clone them because I wanted to try the bud first. Well the seed that is in flowering is about 4 weeks in and its definitely a keeper already! Yellowish trichromes, great odor (Very very very similar to Cindy 99, almost too similar but a lot more pungent), and beautiful strong leaves. I am going to clone in about 2 more weeks when the side growths have filled into clones. I cloned a few in the beginning to see their sex and they rooted in only about 1.5 weeks in Rockwool which is quite incredible in my book. Unfortunetly they are especially susceptible to powdery mildew. Not sure why.

Whoops, edit time ran out. Man, I just wrote a bunch too! Doh! Damn "Halloween" strain and 4 types of random hash is a head knocker.

Anyways, as far as yield is concerned, 1 pound per light is pretty easy. This is about an ounce a plant, little more. Trainwreck however is a pretty low yield strain. Great flavor and potency, looks amazing, dense, but always disapointing on the yield factor. Luckily thats not my main concern, or Id be growing something else. With 3 gallons, well rooted and established clones, and 3 weeks of veg, you can easily pull about a pound per light (running say 15 plants at a little over an ounce each). However I know people that pull much more in a smaller space with more plants, or less plants that are vegged more.

I am somewhat concerned with vegging my Cindy 99 (the next strain to go into the Trainwreck room) because its a strange plant in that its branches love to go off at a 90 degree straight angle like a christmas tree (I am considering decorating one and keeping it in the house for X-mas next month), and horizontal space is very limited with my current setup.

Cant explain how excited I am for the Blueberry and Grapefruit clones. I am a super big fan of flavorful and fruity strains and I have never grown either of these before but smoked them often. I am hoping that with the cold temperatures, I may be able to squeeze some purple out of them (temps these days stay around 60-65 F inside the grow room). We also happened to trade a friend some Trainwreck clones for Jedi, Power Plant, and a few clones of something I cannot remember. They should be ready to go into soil next week. We arent planning any huge runs of these plants until after we bud a few samples to see how they turn out. I do not know the lineage or history.

Thanks for the input, too bad about the edit time. Have you thought about running a sulfur burner to prevent mold, or do you get it very seldom?
What kind of soil and feeding schedules do you typically run?

Bluebear. I have considered a sulfer burner and will be buying one in December for my new room. The new room has a humidity problem so aside from a dehumidifier were going to have a burner as a precautionary method. My only problem with burners is that they can definitely affect the smoothness of the bud. I never had a problem with taste being affected much, but it just seemed harsher and burned quicker, hurt my lungs. To be honest, the SaferGro Mildew Cure works 95% of the time. I spray em about once every 2 weeks. After 2 sprays it usually doesnt show itself again, and if it does show again, I can spray a 3rd time and they are gone. You can use it up to the last 2 weeks of flowering no problem. Its 100% organic so you ever could use it later then that, but your bud might smell/taste like garlic (never happened to me but its a strong smell so...).

As far as feeding schedule, I dont have one set in stone that I like. For veg, I use a 1/1/1 ratio of Bloom, Micro, and Grow. When I move into flowering, I move to a 3/2/1 ratio of B,M, and G over a few waterings (slowly increasing). When flowering hits, the ppm with my additives (VitaBoost, Big Bud, and a tiny bit of Growth Excel) is around 1200. Right now deep into flowering, I am at about 1800, with a tiny bit of burn. Last time this worked ok but this time around they dont like it quite as much. I am about to start cutting it off pretty dramatically. I do 2 ferts then regular water, 2 ferts then regular water, etc. I am about to move to 1 fert then 1 water as I lower the PPM.

Im going to do yet another experiement with the Trainwreck, as once again (Ive done this before) I am going to harvest about half the plants early and half the plants a little late. Trainwreck is a heavy sativa so I want to see how the trichrome matureity really affects the sativa "head" high. Last time I liked the stuff I harvested early (50% clear, 50% cloudy) better then later (almost all cloudy and some amber).

Wow, I love people in general. Yesterday I met a gentlemen off the internet and we ended up doing a trade. I traded a Trainwreck mother plant (after it was cut short too) for a brand new 600 watt HPS bulb. Except not only did I end up with a bulb, but I ended up with 2 Purple G clones, some Purple Bear seeds (I have heard about these, uber purple), some Mango seeds, and some Mango X Lavender seeds.

My mother collection is now as follows:

Trainwreck
Cindy 99
Unknown Chronic
Unknown Indica (everything below this is clone form, not a mother yet)
Jedi
Powerplant
Blueberry
Grapefruit
Purple G

With the Trainwreck mothers, I take about 60-70 clones every 2-3 weeks. With the Cindy 99s, about 35 every 3 weeks. One of my rooms has many different cycles, its just a constant wave. I also started germinating the Purple Bear so hopefully in a month and a half, I can clone like mad.

Thats it for now folks, no pics until tonight.

Thanks for the answers. I may pick up some of that SaferGro Mildew Cure for future purposes just to have around. Right now it is winter and the H is low. I may have to pick up a humidifier. Sounds like you are starting a MJ Basken Robins with 31 flavors of moms.
