^ it is all how you go about saying it. Telling a cop that you don't consent to a search may not stop them from doing it, but it will give you grounds for appeal or reversal after. And many of the ways you can assert your rights are VERY SUBTLE. a small mishap can give them grounds for searching.

you are under no obligation to speak to the police.
never open your door. once you do that, and they walk in, they can always say, you invited them in. Make them break the fucking door, then you have evidence you didnt invite them in.

if a cop ask, "do you mind if i look?"
remember..he/she, is asking because they have too. They have determined They have no real probable cause, so they ask. Dont be afraid to say, no.
If they ask, "why wont you let us?" Simply tell them, "it's my right"...and then say.." Am i uner arrest? if they say, "no", you say, "if that is all, i would like to go now"
They either have to tell you why you cant leave, no, you can leave.
You do not have to tell them where you are going, or where you are coming from.
Dont get mouthy with them.
Always, yes sir/maam, no maam/sir.

Never leave a clip in an opened ashtray.
My suggestion? never smoke while driving, or in your car. When i go up to my cabin i always pull over, take a walk, etc etc. Not only that, some goody two shoes with a cell phone will see you toking in the car and be on the phone to the cops, with your plate number. Be smart;)

I had a state boy come to my house last night. Claimed he was looking for trespassers, lol! Made me nervous as hell, but I stayed calm, said my yes sirs, exercised my rights, and he left.

Afterwords, (After they were off my property) I did some some cleaning...cleared all my ash trays, made sure other things were out of site, and unsearchable, went outside, and listened to some music.

Just use a little common sense and give no reason for probable cause, and you will more than likely be fine.

ahh if a cop ever tried to knee my throat, pepper spary me or any of that shit when i wasnt doing anything wrong, he would be laying on his back with his pepper spray in his eyes, my knee to his thoart, and me beating the shit out of him with his baton, well... most likely not, cause he would just shoot me

^^ it is very important to say out loud that you do not consent to the search. I had a cop call a k9 to my car when I had a small amount of bud in the car. I said that I did not consent to the search .... The dog walked around the car twice, could not enter ... and then they wrote us a traffic ticket and let us go. in other words, don't break down just because it may SEEM like your back is against the wall. they use a lot of tactics to try to scare you into breaking down or giving yourself up. remember that cops will use fear, knowledge, and intimidation along with lies to get you to forfeit your rights.

Good information to know. I wish I knew that when I was younger. I got busted for possesion when I was 15 (damn, that was 21 years ago! I feel so old :( ). Anyhow, it was a totally bogus search. If I had known this I never would have consented. But he pulled the same intimidation tricks on me and I caved. All I got was a citation, not even a fine, but it still pisses me off to this day.

I had some shit with me hidden in the car, and I didn't want to be searched. But, if I didn't consent, he would have called in the K9 unit. (I've had this happen many times) I had it [my stash] hidden VERY well, so I consented. Risky? Yes, but better than having the K9 do the searching, right? He searched through nearly everything, but like I said...my shit was well hidden.

"Thank you sir, have a nice day" was the last thing he said to me.

The best thing to do, is to not drive with anything on you. Otherwise you open yourself up to getting caught.

What I do is when I leave my house only carry no more than 7 grams..that's an amount that can easily be pushed into the bottom of my shoe. They'll pat you down and won't search your shoes unless they find something that suggests you may possess something illegal or that could be a threat to the officer. :stoned: That's what I say about it.
