Are you a Myspacer or do you see it as an evil commercial entity allowing people to believe that they are showing their individuality when they're just being self indulgent?

I have a love-hate relationship with myspace.com
It seems people are using that to meet people, instead of actually getting up off their arses and going out like people should. The internet is has a very very limited amount of possibilities for a good friendship to begin and flourish..
But in another way, it's cool to keep track of your friends, and who can honestly say they havent met someone that had sex with someone they met on myspace?

And likewise with myspace there are usually pictures of yourself and a location of where ya live linked to it. Are you SURE you really want to post your Myspace addy in a cannabis forum? BE SAFE!!!
Have a good one!

i use it.
i like it.
i think it is kind of annoying how into it people get, but dont have a big problem with it. also a lot of people try to use it for online dating who are the same people who would ridicule eharmony and shit like that. it is like a loophole. i think both are silly that way, finding love without ever meeting people but people definitely use myspace to attempt to get laid. also it makes me realizes how alike people really are like they put all that shit in the about me and music and movies and about 90% of them say about 90% the same stuff. but it isnt hurting anyone. except young girls who are taken advantage through it, but that is going to happen on the internet no matter what, so other than that it isnt hurting anyone.

I like myspace, it allows me to keep in contact with people i would otherwise never talk to again. Plus, there's a lot of good bands on there if you look for them.

I don't like it. The only reason I ever made an account was so I could look at people's pictures. I've never set anything up.. hell, I don't think I know my password anymore.
I think I'm the only person I know who doesn't use MySpace.

I was told by every single one of my friends that I was the only person on earth who didn't have a myspace. In the end, my ex convinced me to set up an account by offering me some nudes of herself. I made an account awhile ago but only actually put anything on there a couple days ago. i hate myspace but i don't hate my ex's body. :p
also looking through it i find that just about every kid who had no friends in highschool and never talked to anyone has one and they try to make themselves looking all cool. i mean i can see not putting im a creepy weirdo but they write shit like i love to party. a lot of what you see on there is lies.

I have a myspace page, but I've never done anything with it. All I did was register my account, and then I never went back. Maybe someday I'll go fill in all those questions and shit.
But it doesn't stop people from sending me friend requests.
Damn friends list whores.
99% of "friends" on any random profile are really complete strangers. They all just add each other for some odd reason.

death to myspace, that's how i feel about it.
as much as i hate it, i love it. i was morally opposed to getting one, didnt even make my own. but my ex said i just haaaaaad to have one, she went ahead and made it. on the phone with her, she asked me what i wanted on it, i told her. for her and curiousity, i browsed through it, slowly started getting interested.
to those that say it kills making a real friendship, it has improved some of mine, yeah i talk with ppl i dunno, but ive also made contact with alot of old friends, which is a real sweet deal to me. not to mention browsing the bulletins kills time, although they are fairly repetitve and some annoying as shit(POST THIS IF YOU LOVE JESUS!!!@#*&@#*@#). and i do hate some of the ppl on it.

In the beginning, before every high school kid had one, it was a good idea. Lesser-known bands got their name out there, and it was generally a good thing.
Having said that, now it's turned into one disgusting trend I simply can't be a part of.
What ever happened to exchanging e-mails or phone numbers with those friends that move away? If you don't even have their number/e-mail, you probably weren't too good of friends in the first place.
Just my thoughts though. I do browse it from time to time to check out bands and whatnot, but other than that, it's a waste of time. I'd rather call up a friend, personally. ~

The thing about MySpace is you can search for someone by their first and last name...or find an old friend from another friends myspace.
Completly different than EMail.

Ahh,,, Yahoo used to be my source for finding people until they started charging for the lookups... never thought of the popularity of my space as being a source to find people...

It's great, I have all my friends from high school who left and did their own thing and I am able to catch up with them.
My best friend from 3-13 years old who I lost contact with...she found me!..so did her sister!
...then friends that I used to be really good friends with who are really involved in our lives right now ill get to see what is up....
I don't know, I like it..yeah it has it's lame stupid aspects, but I definitly am glad I have it. Especially because I just recently moved away from home and get to keep in contact with all my friends at home. I really hate talking on the phone, so I like to be able to keep in contact on myspace...
...also its a good way to find out about parties and whats going on.

I'm not that big on it, but I will say that it's handy to try and track down peeps that you graduated with. It's interesting to see who got married, who had kids, and who went into the service. that and seeing how fat all my football buddies got makes me feel a little better.

The idea sold for damn near 3/4 billion dollars. Beyond that, its an awesome advertising space for anyone offering services in your local area. But of course the site is filled with freaks and geeks, I tend to be both. But yeah, you cannot beat free and for what the offer, its not bad. Saying all that, my myspace is default to the bone, except for my avatar. So yea, not that self indulgent.
