100w Compact Fluorescent FLUOREX replacement bulbs sell at my local home depot for 15$ a pop. They only sell the sockets in packages like this:
(kind of a ripoff)
http://cgi.ebay.com/FLUOREX-Super-high-output-Grow-Light-CFL-HPS-hydroponic_W0QQitemZ330023166067QQihZ014QQcategory Z42225QQcmdZViewItem
but I want to know if something like these:
https://www.hardwareworld.com/362-Medium-To-Mogul-Adapter-pTVE318.aspx
will work with regular light sockets and 100w Fluorex bulbs to give me cheap 3x100w compact fluorescents. I plan on maybe doing that with a 3-light vanity mirror socket http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290047465754&rd=1&rd=1 and make a 300w fluorex light system with a homemade mylar reflector. Just to maintain mothers and clones.

the flouex fixtures have a ballast built in to them for those bulbs ,if you plug those lamps into regular 110 thell blowup caution read the box and it will tell they dont contain there own ballast like most cfl im a electrician trust me

Why is this thread titled Mogul Sockets? I can't find much here that relates to that type of socket? Standard CFL's 85-95 watts and below generally use standard "medium" sockets. CFL's of larger wattage, like 95w and up often use larger "Mogul" sockets either E39 or E40.

When standard small CFL's state 42w /100w equivilent or 65w/150w equivilent or whatever, it's still just a 42w or 65w bulb.

I'm talking about a 100W (NON EQUIVELENT) Home security fluorex replacement bulb at home depot. They use mogul sockets, I want to use mogul socket adapters in the 3-light strip to make a 300W CFL with a homemade reflector.

Hi Buddahbear
I'am working on a cab that I'll be useing two of the 150 watt cfls. I can buy the sockets at {plantlighting hydroponcis} for $8.90 each.I have ordered from them before and they deliver in a few days. They have great prices too.To top it off I ordered two blubs for my 400 watt MH&HPS light and I got the wrong MH blub.So I called them,Low and behold I got to talk to a real person,a real person anwered the phone,He say send it back and He would send me the right blub. The rigth one is about three dollars more and he say he would give it to me at the same price. Now that's service. If you call and ask he will find what you want and get it at a good price too. Here's the Ph # 1-888-258-0670.Only if He only sold beans wow.
With those cfls you will have too use the mogul sockets cause of the heat,
the household sockets will not work and may cause a fire from over heating.
Best of Luck to you.
