Well, I made a thread bout them in my past life, but I cant find it, so im gonna make another one Lol!
Anyway, I have really been getting into Phish lately, i really only had liek 15 of their songs before I met the network administrator at my school, who is a major pothead, alot like me, and used to do sound for Phish and Trey's solo shit. He made my server space on the school server 5 gigs bigger and gave me about a half gig of Phish, and thats been all i been listening to for a few days now. My favorites are Divided Sky, the Fluffhead series, Contact, Golgi Apparatus, Chalkdust torture, and a bunch more. Theres some weird ass songs i just wont listen to, but otherwise I think Phish is in the top 10 bands of all time musically speaking, not creatively or innovatively, they just knew how to play music. How do you guys like phish? and what are your fave songs.
PS i love to rip on the posers at my school who when i say i like phish, theyre like "Yeah, Phish is great," and then im like "Name a song" and theyre like "ummmmmm... Farmhouse?" and i just laugh at those fools. I love everything from Phish to Gang Starr to Pac to Metallica so its easy for these music abusing (read: "Chain Hang Low" by Jibbs) fools to piss me off. Black kids and white kids too. Anyway, im just rambling now im stoned sorry.

Phish is truly an amazing musical talent. All of those guys are innovators and can play some amazing stuff.
My favorite songs gotta be 'Reba', 'Stash', 'Run like an Antelope', 'Sample in a Jar'...okay, I could go on, but I'll stop. So many good songs though that get stuck in my head for days.
I've got a handful of live shows I've downloaded, but not like every single one they have. Just one's that were special, like when a song was first played, or like every Halloween show (those are always fun).
Start here if you want more Phish. You'll never stop, and this isn't even the only source for shows. http://bt.etree.org/
More people need Phish. Period. Their insane melodies and riffs make you feel good inside. It's pure fucking talent. ~

Hmm, I've been listening to Phish for about a year now. I only have two CD's though.
My favorite songs by them are Walls of the Cave, the live stuff they did with Jay-Z, Dirt, and Colonel Forbin.

Jay-Z did a song with Phish? When? What's it called? I don't think I've ever heard it before...

Yeah, Phish and Jay-Z play live together all of the time. If you're just getting into Phish, buy Hoist or Picture of Necture. If you like what you hear, then buy Billy Breathes. But yeah, I've got every one of their live cd's and a whole bunch of bootlegs. I can't help it, I'm just completely in love with the band and their style. I've spent many a night watching getting stoned and watching their concert DVD's and talking with my phellow phish priends. Their music is orgasmic, the best drug ever created and I am completely addicted.

Yeah. I think they played Big Pimping. But I've never liked Jay-Z. He's very talented but he sold himself out to much.

I saw Phish with Jay-Z in a magazine once. Musicians don't just listen to the genre they are into, a lot of them listen to all sorts of music. Jay-Z also did work with Linkin Park, who I can't stand, but they are much heavier than Jay-Z.
I've never really heard Phish before, like I've heard of them and even read an article about them, and all I know is they are a really, well respected jam band. Maybe I'll check them out later.
are you kind

I've been jammin to phish for 6 years now... They are one of the most amazing bands musically and personally that has ever walked this earth. They'll always be one of my favorite bands of all time. They have been a major influence on me and are partly responsible for the easy going, fun-loving stoner I am today. They taught me to take it easy in life. I have all their albums and all the movies they have and a few gigs of live phish shows. They have an incredible personality about their music, and if you watch the dvd's or listen to live shows it shows the personality even furtherly as individuals. As for the dvd's, I strongly recommend Bittersweet Motel for those who are just getting into them, and IT for those who have listened. I've many a times thought of posting a thread on phish to see if there are any other phishheads in here, but never have remembered to do it. Thanks for posting it man, glad to know there are other Phish listeners in here.

I didn't like it. Trey came off more as an aging hippie than he did in Bittersweet Motel. The whole band was having more fun when Bittersweet motel was filmed (which is why the '98 tour is considered one of their best tours ever) as opposed to being tired and ready to break up when It was filmed. They just seemed like a bunch of goofy frat boys in B.M., the kind of people you can't help but like.

Allman brothers band are good muscians, but they lack musical diversity. I still love them though. Saw them in concert a while ago, they're getting old, aren't excited about playing anymore.
