thinking of moving to canada???

ok i have been kicking around the idea moving up to canada cleaner air better smoke easier laws on weed... is it worth it??? i live in ohio already so the weather is the same... i looking a hamltion , toronto hell even niagara falls area would be kool? are the laws beter in canada??? how is the cost of living?? any help would be great:D

The laws are slightly better, but we are still far from actually legalizing weed. If your moving to canada purely for the weed factor, i don't think its worth it! and good luck getting a work Visa, and eventually your dual citzenship...not an easy task!!

I would call the laws here more than "slightly better". Nobody really goes to jail just for possession, and even growers are getting away with public service or house arrest. If you do move to Canada I'd suggest moving here to B.C. Right now we have 2 main provincial parties here, the NDP and the Liberals. The NDP has now officially made it their policy that they want to legalize and regulate weed, and while the Liberals are in power right now, we vote both parties in back and forth all the time. As the saying goes in B.C., we don't vote anybody in, just somebody out.

btw, don't let the name "Liberals" fool you, by Canadian standards the provincial Liberals here are more conservative than anything.

so basically you are wanting to move to canada to get better weed? my friend and old roomate used to live in port huron, MI and tried to get residency in canada and he said its pretty insane. apparently you get points based on your profession, your level of education, how much money you have, etc. basically getting resididency in canada as an american is like getting accepted into an elite club. he might have just been bullshitting me because he does that a lot, but good luck either way.
