i had noticed that many here play a musical instrument.
I was also thinking, for those 18 years or older, that it might be a good idea to get cannabis.com to help support a cannabis.com band.
My plan would be to have musicans try to get together at least once at year at a pro-cannabis event, like we have here in San Francisco's cannabis day, or, medical marijuana week. We could play at the event( i have great connections for that to happen here in SF), and simply call ourselves, "Cannabis.com"
My hopes are that we could record the event, sell cd's, and the proceeds from the sales would go to those who need financial help in dealing with a cannabis related arrest.
Perhaps we would have enough talent locally to pull this off, or, if others could make it from further away, that would be swell.
It's just a passing thought. I have lots of equipment, lots of access to those that could, and would, participate in making this happen.
As you all know, Mayday, is a huge event here in San Francisco. And it's a very very pot friendly event that yields no arrests for open cannabis use.
Any ideas, suggestions, concerns, etc etc?

Anybody into Celtic folk music?
I play a MEAN Irish fiddle. That would be an awesome session! My favorite hippie/townie bar around here has celtic jam night and they don't seem to mind tokers on the back porch as long as they don't actually SEE you.

dude i was actually thinking about this for the past couple of days, i was gonna record a rythm guitar track, and ask drummers to put drums to it, bassists to put bass in and lead guitarist to do their stuff, all at different times, i did it for a website before, bolt.com did this and it was great, i never ended up entering cuz the track i recorded sucked ass lol....
but seriously man i was gonna post something like this in a day or too once i had a track recorded, u musta tapped into my mental thoughts lol
anyways i'm up for a cann.com band, even check out the links in my sig and if anyone wants to add something to those songs (drums bass lead guitar etc) be my guest :)

Neil Young, Met, David Crosby, in a traffic jam;)
In my most humble of opinions, all things are possible.
California is a big state thats relatively easy to get around, with many talented people, and many people here in the forum are from the golden state.
I played on stage with my friends, Randie, and her husband, Jack, last year, and it was fun. They also operate the 350 Divisidero Club, here in San Francisco, and we are quite frequently(once a month) on channel 29, here in the city.
All beginings begin with concept, even if we arent always aware of what they are.

I was talking with Wesley Pipes in chat about this and I have to say it sparks my interest big time. I'm a guitar player for many years, who also plays various bongo drums like the Dejamba. I could add some guitar and simple light percussion in the mix.
I think we should really do this. It sounds like loads of fun.
I'm thinking we could combine all of our own personal styles in the mix and make it work. It would take some work on each musicians part, but the outcome could be something really interesting. Add some fiddle, some guitar, some elctronic if we want, some drums (of course) but not just the drums, but percussion drums, all of it, creating this wicked tune(s).
Doesn't az666 play the drums or something? We could ask him to do the drumming.

All we need to start is a good rythem instrument playing a simple chord or melody and build from that.

Young re-met Steve Stills, at a stop light, along with bass player Bruce Palmer and Richie Furay, they would go on to form Buffalo Springfield, along with local drummer Dewey Martin.

I play a good amount of rhythm and lead blues guitar. I can also jam out pretty good.
I have a 62 reissue Gibson SG finished in satin red which is about to have 12 wide strings and a single coil at bridge. Also have an Epi acoustic which has a hole in the top cuz I accidentally closed a trunk on it. Still plays great though.

i play a ton of guitar, drums, sax, marimba, vibes, bass, and whatever. I'm definitely down for some jamming. I also have reason 3 so i can do a lot of keyboard/synth/sample stuff and guitar rig 2 so i can record any type of guitar sound.

for any guitar players who may want to start a rythem... one of the songs i started to right for a heavy metal band was to play on an acustic, or a bluesy sounding amp and guitar... well... i have to look up the notes on but i will send them to some one if they want... but it was gonna be a realy kool song, and it was gonna be our first song for the band, and it was gonna make up sound like a clasic rock band or something, but then all of a sudden, it kicked to heavy metal like after a few seconds...

We should play a version of Whiskey in the Jar... I bet we could do a better job than Metallica... even though their cover DID rock pretty hard.
