I saw SDHall's monkey and thought it would be a great thread...
Here's mine. He showed up on my lawn, no note, no explanation, and I still don't know where he came from!!!
You can see the little dude in the far right corner of the veg room.

Wow, weird, the fabric that your [adorable] Neo's bed is made of- I have pillows on my sofa with the same pattern, and I think you used to be able to order car-seat covers from Cabela's with it too. It reminds me of medieval tapestries.

I dig those out of the dumpster at a local nursery. They actually are 5x5s but they are nice and deep. For flowering, I'v got a collection of 12x12x18 3-gallon pails that I got from a Mexican restaurant (mmmmmmmm Cabot local sour cream....mmmmm.....), a friend with a cat (she buys kitty litter in bulk), and a local hardware store (chain comes in them).
Orangeman, I've got to check out the gnome! OMG!!!! Maybe I will put him in the microwave to melt the microphones! =P

My cat is my growroom mascot, shes called sasky (short for sasquatch) because she has seven toes on her back paws and six on her front, Its sad though, the past few days she has been falling over alot and has been very shaky, shes a very old cat so it looks like her nine lives are almost up..

Yesturday me and my family came home after going for a meal with more family, and my cat was still nowhere to be seen, (it was missing in the morning too) so my mum went to look for her, as the post above explains, she was very old and had been sick for about a week, my mum found her all curled up in the shed, she meowed very quietly at my mum, and stopped breathing, we brought her in and layed her down by the radiator, but she was gone, usually when a cat dies i dont think much of it, but ive had this one ALL my life, and cant remember a day without her, so it is pretty hard to come to grips with, although one good thing came of it all, almost a whole two years ago 'waddle' (her daughter) died, and sasky would cry out for her alot of the time, which was hard to watch, but at least they are together now :)
Anyway, now i no longer have a garden mascot, :( or a cat either, i hope all of you with cats and dogs give them extra special attention today, because i cant...:(
RIP SASKY...We'll miss you...

Jeeze - so sorry to hear AB, not good.
You are a great and caring, mature person (conkers aside - my bad) and have contributed greatly to many peoples questions/threads on here, both serious and non-serious.
I am genuinely sorry for your loss, and I hope you are okay man. Remember that you now have friends on here should you ever need anything - a shoulder even, etc. etc.
Condolances and kindest reguards - your friend always, Hall

thnx for all the kind words :) im glad i didnt get a load of harsh replies (which was what i expected,) and im even more happy to know you all care and understand.
Anyway my dad took her up to my nans to bury her, - we're moving house soon so she would have only been dug up again if we had have buried her here, its okay though, she would have loved my nans garden, and is probably up in heaven being one of gods many garden mascots right now, its weird though, strange stuff was happening all around the house until my dad took her away, maybe she just wanted to be put to rest, and after all that suffering, i dont blame her... anyways its nice to know you can all relate or at least stop by to give a few kind words, it means alot :) thnx pps...

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I've lost dear animals and especially if they have always been with you, it's devastating! I am still in grief (I cry when I think of him) over my dog Emerson, who died at the age of 16 a year and 1/2 ago. He was the love of my life, truly.
I am sure your love for your kitty made her life very happy. Try to comfort yourself by remembering that she had a good life. Not all cats do. But she had you!

I picked her up a few years ago at a Florida hotel gift shop. I had a ball scaring my wife and a couple of friends we were vacationing with. She was especially funny late at night (drunks).
Anyway, she's back to work on this dutiful postition of head beast in charge of security of this top secret, hush hush, special project.

Indeed, they would be neat to have. I didn't touch mine much, didn't wanna freighten him, I would just try to introduce new things for him to climb on so he didn't get bored in that aquarium. Then I ended up giving him away in a fit of moving back to Cali. I miss em, every now and then they made these humping noises lol. Funny. mmm! mm! mm!

Hey, Cyclonite.
Have you ever tried using the iguana/lizard lights (the UVB ones) in your grow?
My connection is a bit slow or I'd go grab the link to the UVB/UVA debate thread. But you know what I mean, right?
I've HEARD of it being good for that use (to supplement the UVB rays that are missing in HID lights, but are given off by the sun naturally), but have never heard of anyone actually using it and getting quantifiable results.
Sooo, you have an iguana, therefore have a very good excuse to go pick some of them up. :stoned:
Dammit, it's taken me so long to type this post, I've probably been logged out by now. Sheesh. :wtf:

I'm not cyclonite, but I use a lizard light on seedlings. It helps me keep temps warm in my chilly baby area since it provides heat gradients, and they really seem to like it. I use it in conjunction with my cfls. I can't use them when I flower, it just jacks the temps up too much.
TheGreenFog
03-07-2007, 02:18 AM
Hey, Mrs. G. Well, from what I remember when I was looking around on the web, I know there are a couple of different types of lizard lights, right? There are the heat lights, the UVB lights, and then combos of the two.
It seemed to me, that since your lizards generally need to be heated/warmed while at the same time receiving their UV rays, the manufacturers really aren't trying to make the lights cool, therefore most of the lizard lights I found were also heat lamps.
BUT, I did find some that said they were just UVB lamps at 7% the suns rays. I'm not sure about the heat in these lamps, and I'm going to have to go check around to see if I can pull up a link, but if they are separated from the heat lamp, they should be good for your plants.
You say you use them (for the warmth) on your seedlings. But I'm talking about putting them on flowering plants to increase the trichome production.
Nameen? :smokin:

I feel you Fog;) I apologize if I mislead you. My plants love the light itself. I don't use it just for the warmth. It has a good spectrum.
Cyclonite
03-07-2007, 08:58 AM
Naa haven't tried it. I dont think its worth it for bigger plants...the light output on the UVB lights is crap compared to the same wattage GE daylight fluorescent.
Now if you wanted to put a male cannabis plant for your lizard to climb around on and eat UVB should be ok.
It is a good spectrum for seedling/Veg though.
They dont put out hardly any heat...no more than a standard T12 40W
