Mine was a Volkswagen Beetle. Red. 1972 model. I managed to save up enough money, $550, that it could be combined with the equal matching funds my dad agreed to provide, and I purchased it, used but in excellent condition, for $1,100, in 1977 when I was 16.
I drove that car until I was 23 and had been married for nearly a year. Wish I had it back now with gas prices what they are.

That's really smart...by the way just because it's a taurus doesn't automatically mean it's an old lady.

nope i dont have that problem. mine just doesnt like to start when its really hot outside. and for some reason it doesnt like to be parked on hills. the engine starts to make a really weird sound when i park on a hill and when i try to start it up it doesnt wanna start but all o gotta do is tap the gas pedal and it starts.

my first car was a 1951 Plymouth Cambridge (year of my birth) ... 4-dr sedan ... flathead 6-cylinder, three-on-the-tree, ugly light green color, ... cost me $15, needed a clutch (cost $15), lost it to my best friend in a game of pool after I blew the rear end out of it (the bet was $15 against the car) ... he bought a rear end for $15, drove it for another year ... finally, he drove it to a junkyard, where they gave him $15 for it ... years later, I was at that junkyard, they had torched the rear half of the body off of it, used it in the yard to fetch parts ... as a joke, I asked the guy if he would sell it to me ... he said he would take $15 for it :D ... absolutely true story :D

MY first was car was a 4 door 88 Isuzu I-mark good car good on gas and no power at all had to floor it to get anywhere.
Second car 87 Accord, Would never own one again.
Third car that I'm driving right now is a 88 Civic HB, Not a bad car at all if you don't mind a rough ride and killer gas mileage and the engine takes my abuse. ;)
But I'm ready to move on to something better when I get My tax return next year.
I want to get something with a v6 or v8 that rides smoother then what I have right now.

'92 Chevy Camaro, black, with cool blue lines paint trim. I had the guys at the local shop that does custom car radios and stuff add a light like Kit had in Knight Rider across the front, with a on/off switch on the dash under the stereo, except it was blue to match the trim instead of Kit's red. Got shit mileage, was a beast in the winter with the rear wheel drive, but man, that car was fun. I miss it!

My husband has a 91 z28 camero that was his first car.
My fisr car was a 1984 honda civic and it was a stick so I had loads of fun learning how to drive it. Anyways it was $400 and had 250,000 miles on it. When I got done with it it had 316,000 miles on it. It looked like a rust bucket but I really loved that car. Well we sold it to my dad he rode it for a few months and then used it as a trade in for his truck. From there I can only hope car heaven.

What a great thread. This is really bringing back some memories (not all wonderful btw). My first car was a late 70's or early 80's AMC Spirit. This car was a freaking joke. It was bright yellow with a brown wood trim. You talk about your chick magnet car..haha...When it got to 55 miles per hour the car would start to wobble and shake. It used to scare the hell out of me. Great stoner mobile though and it had a kick ass stereo!

1993 Ford Taurus. yes sir. that car was my pride and joy for a long time. i worked and worked and saved and saved and then the day came where i finally had enough money to buy a car. and for some odddddd reason i wanted a taurus. once i got it that car was like my sidekick, every crazy adventure i went on that car got me to and from in one peice. it was a piece of shit, so it was a love/hate relationship.

LOL Big_Smoke I had a 1988 Chevrolet Beretta too as my first car. After my sister wrecked it about 3 times my parents gave it to me. The engine blew at 100k, so I had the engine rebuilt. It had all sorts of problems. The air conditioner went out about once a year and freon always had to be put in it, the paint was peeling off the car , the transmission went out and had to be rebuilt, the whole dash was cracking and falling apart, the roof lining was coming down so I had to put thumb tacs in the ceiling so I could see when driving down the road, the door panels were coming off,and the alternator I replaced like 5 times. In the end I was constantly getting stranded, but ended up putting 230k miles on it. When I traded it in, it barley rolled into the dealer parking lot and they gave me $500 dollars for it as a trade in. :pimp:
