cobras are fast, and domestic small blocks have strong ass internals. You could run high 11s on a stock VH turbo in the sti, all about the tune as you said. I can't wait to upgrade my turbosystem man , I'll be down in the 11's with you leeroy. I run a 13.6 @97 mph now on a stock k04 turbo at 18psi. Whats your best run leeroy?

I'm not dissing the STI in any way, I think they are a very well built car, but the ones I have seen take ton's just to get in the 12's. I do, however know that the would give a cobra a good run for the money in a road race (i.e. turns and tight corners) because of their AWD, but I think the newer cobra's do have a chance seeing as how they have an IRS (independent rear suspension).

Those are some good numbers for a stock turbo STI. I don't have any numbers to give you as this is a "dream car" thread lol and that's the car I wish I could have, I used to have an 87 5.0 convertible that isn't near as fast as an STI but I think an 03/04 cobra would be a good opponent for one.

We've had a Camaro and a Trans-Am, so I guess a 'stang would be what I'd want next. But I doubt we'll ever get one, not with gas prices these days, and neither me nor the woman drive all that much anymore, so a 'stang would definitely be a pure luxury. (Our current car is a 2000 Corolla that just this year passed the 30k mile mark, so 5,000 miles a year.)

If I had to have a car, I guess it would be a 70 Hemi 'Cuda convertable that had a modern big block hemi with a 6 speed tranny and all the possible tricked out options I could squeeze in there.
But you see, I call cars "Cages" because they take the wind from my face.
Motorcycles are the vehicles that make me drool and the 1983 Honda CB1100RD is the bike of my dreams but, it would be modified to the extreme if I had one.

I used to have one of these... but mine was bright red, lifted, and had all the cool lights and racks and shit. I still miss it SOOOO much. It never needed repairs no matter how hard I beat on it.
Now I have a nice modest dependable VW Jetta... my 2nd Jetta actually, I traded the subie in for the 1st and kind of regret it.
But if we're talking dreams... any 1968-72 Mopar muscle... Hell yeah. I don't cry over it though!

1985 monte carlo ss. Black with red seats.
i had a 1978 grand prix, 350 supercharged, and the tranny to match. It was great cause i spent all my $$ on the engine and the paint was primer gray with pink bondo spots. Guys in tricked out hondas would try to get me to race them, and i would kill them.

Cobras are good on the dragstrip but i would never trust my life with a cobra on the track... but theres no doubt the big 8 is fuckin awesome... theres nothing like puttin that much power to the ground.
As for the STi... my friend owns one and simply removed the exhaust... before a chip he had around 30-40 horses more than stock.

You do know that the average successful auto shop takes AT LEAST $40,000 worth of tools/equipment right? You're lucky if you have someone to pay for those expenses. That's exactly the reason I didn't finish the course at TSTC.

actualy, one of my homies, had a geo metro, that he droped a 305 SB into... about a year later, he fucked the car up trying to put a 350SB in it (he fucked up the inside fenders, and fucked the frame over trying to weld motor mounts while drunk...) yea... we had some good times doing that... eventualy, we just welded the stock motor back into place, and took the cat off, and put a strait pipe off the motor, and we would take the damn thing threw mud pits and shit...

how about the thing in my avatar as a first car....1952 ford panel truck my dad has had since he was 18 years old...hes restored it twice the first time he put a bone stock 351 windsor in it....only thing done to that engine was a little bigger of a cam, a good 750, and headers...made that truck go a 13.5@100 all day long...4 or 5 years ago we restored it for the second time...he chopped 4 inches out of the roof this time and has a full cage but now it has a 390 big block in it...i love it
