a little help please??? (indoor questions)

hello everyone out there, i want to thank you guys ahead of time, the msg boards and the website is very helpful and deff, this community cares about the nature and culture of cannabi.

heres my dilema:

i wanna start growing, but i live in a basement apt and it isn't to big but not too small

there are 3 rooms to my basement apt
1. kitchen/living room (connected)
2. bedroom
3. bathroom

*the kitchen/living room area is the biggest room of all 3 but there are a couple of downfalls: a) the main door is in this room, so the smell could travel out into the main hallway of the apt building b) theres is little ventilation (in all the rooms to be exact) seeing as there is only one window. one good thing is that is has a very tall closet, which could of been a plus, but that just goes back to sub-note a)

*the bedroom area is the darkest, also one window, but i noticed it tends to be the chilliest, possible draft comin in the one window. It has a closet and i feel that it may be the ideal space, but should i worry about the coldness in the room?

*last is the bathroom, it is the chilliest room when i dont put the heater on, but when i do it gets nice and warm, i feel there is a stronger draft in this room but i dont know if the moisture of hot showers and/or the draft would benifit or hurt the plant, what do you serious growers think???

I would say depending on how private your bedroom is, this would be the place to go and you could always have make an excuse if you don't want someone going in there..

Buy yourself a small cupboard/closet what ever you find suitable for your room and convert it into your growbox.. Check out my thread, I started from a small shelf laying around in my basement..

What type of lights are you going to buy, As you can see I went with CFL's cause Im only growing one plant, I dont plan to harvest an amazing yeild, I just want the satisfaction of some homegrow...

Welcome.

I would vote for the bedroom, just because it would be the most private. It You said it also has a window in it (you could suck in fresh air from there/air to cool your lights). For the draft...seal off the window with caulking and use only the inlet or outlet that you create. If it is chilly in there, get a small heater, like the one you use in the bathroom. :D

I wouldn't want to put it in the living room or the bathroom for security reasons, and like you said, humidity in the bathroom would most likely cause some harm during the flowering stage (mold).

What kind of enclosure will you be using? I recommend an armoir type of closet. There are computer armoirs that have top & bottom sections that you could use to create a perpetual harvest-type system.

Do you plan on growing bagseed or do you have a particular strain picked out? Good luck! Let us know what you decide and we definitely hope to see pictures and/or a log. :thumbsup:

Yeah, what lights are you going to have?
if you're going with some bigass HPS or HID's, you'll be glad you built the room in a cold area...lots of heat hassle for many people with those lights, I've rebuilt and rebuilt and rebuilt again fighting those temps, and I live in á cold Scandinavian country...

thanks alot guys, as for strain im considerin northern lights or nirvana, but honestly im just thinkin out everything and planning out heavily, no where near growin yet, but trust me when time comes, pix n logs will be ready for posting
