i just started growing so i'm new to this. i have one 100 watt florescent light and one 75 watt regular light bulb. i have 3 plants, and i'm not sure what the minimum amount of light could be. the plants are about 5 inches tall now. also, are there any tips as to how to keep the plant size down, but keep the yield decent?

.

Move the regular bulb to the bathroom or hall or something. It does nothing for the plant. Get another 100w fluor at the mimimum, someone else who does fluor growing will tell you more exactly what you need.

Heres one good way of keeping them low:

Good luck!

the best way to figure it is to calculate the lumens per sq foot
each bulb should be rated for there lumen output.

2000 lumens/sq foot is minimum for plant growth
5000 is average
7000 best.

if you want to keep yeild big and plant small. you should employ some training things like LST topping stuff like that

also the smaller you can get the internodes small. which menas more light.

make sure you are using the correct specturm
6500K for vegg (ie cool white)
2700K for flowering (warm)
