1st Time Grow Log

Hey this will be my first grow log. I planted some germinated seeds(bagseed) on october 24th. This is just my attemt at growing with household things(not spending much money...and not growing much....just personal use) Pictures will be added as often as i can take them.

Here they are as of yesterday...(under magnafying glass to focus camera)

Suggestions/Tips/Criticism totally welcomed!




First Pic: I consider this the healthy of the two. It just seems normal...does it look ok?

Second Pic: I consider this to be my retard...ill get another angle to see...what do you think is wrong here?

Third Pic: Retard...just a different angle

Fourth Pic: Both of the babies:) I call them Peter and Retard:dance:

Fifth Pic: My setup....i have a little wall i made from cardboard that i put in front of it and there is now a computer fan hanging down over them. The light is a 20w CFL.

edit: This is day 12(pictures from day 11) ... i will upload new pictures sometime today.

Transplant now. Get those two out of the same pot into different pots before the roots get tangled and its too late. 1 plant, 1 pot, 1 problem. 2 plants 1 pot 1 problem = 2 problems. That, and they'll be fighting for nutrients if you grow them in the same one. Best to fix that before it gets impossible to.

Do you have the computer fan blowing directly on them? Its not necessarily a good idea to have a constant wind from one direction. The computer fan would be great for maintaining temperature / ventillation, but if you are going to have it pointed on the plants you'll want something that oscilates. Just get a cheap one from wal-mart, you'll be glad you did. Air blowing on the stems in nature is what causes the stem to strengthen up. If you don't have any air movement (you should see the leaves move a little) then your stems will be weak. Big stems = big plants = big buds. I'll post some helpful links I have bookmarked this evening when I get back to my computer. Other than that, good luck man. Keep us posted. I wouldnt name then peter and retard as u want them to be girls rite? and in some cases plants have grow better if you talk to it nicely lol callin it retard mite affend it lmao.

I already was planning on getting two 10" pots and some of the same dirt i initially used from walmart tonight. how are they looking? think i should start buying some nutes of some sort? if so which kind?

The computer fan is hanging by a metal wire and is pointed to the wall next to the plant...which is bouncing off the wall and giving it a little bit of air..enough to make it worth it. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep em comin and thanks for the kind comments!:thumbsup:

Going to walmart and buying 2 bigger pots right now...also i found a seed that had germinated it so i put that in a cup and im gonna try to sprout it....i also just dropped 3 more seeds into cups to give'r a whirl....we'll see...pics later!:stoned:

Just snapped some pics...transplanting tomorrow into these nice new pots:D.

The dixie cups are the new seeds that i just planted...1 of them already popped the other 3 im just winging it.

Pics: First pic is of the setup as it sits..until tomorrow when i get another cfl set up and get the two beauties transplanted. Second pic is of the healthy one(Peter) ... i can see the little leaves growing under the leaves...should be getting some good progress soon. Third pic is just another view. Fourth...the retard...shes(i hope) getting better...isnt as retarded as it used to be. Fifth pic...yet again just another pic of the healthy one...i dunno i was bored...sorry if nothing has changed :(

lookin gd m8! Like ur set up. Nutriests are pretty much the same but be carfull not to over feed it - i got worm castings in what mite already be nutrient soil lol then i didnt mix the nutrients properly, just guesed, now one of my plants is curling back ooops!

with that one 20w cfl, r u planning on putting more cfls or do you think one is
enough?. i wouldnt try and separate those two plant i didnt once and they didnt
make it, i had a friend that grew 2 plants in the same pot and both grew up to be females. anyways good luck.

Here they are after being transplanted. I have another identicle cfl that im attempting to set up. What are some precautions i should take and things i should do after them JUST being transplanted? They seemed very limp and wimpy with the dirt at its normal level...so i raised it up and the stems are more covered than usual...is this ok? Anyways thanks for the help so far guys and keep the advice coming!

nah its cool m8. u have enough leaves to photsynthesise that little bit of stem wont make a difference, i would say to water it well when u transplant but one of mines has shrivled and im tryin all i can to get it up again but...
keep posting on here and we can help each other out im only on my 30th day. just started some more off 2 days ago. dont worry bout that crooked leaf probally just a genetic problem i dont know lol those leaves are probally gna come off anyway

btw how are u growin, whats ur target deadlin? 3 months, 5 months or more?

i dont necessarily have a target deadline...im just letting it veg till i feel like its happy with itself lol. Then im gonna let it flower till i feel happy with MYself lol. It keeps drying out insanely fast so i have to keep watering them but im guessing thats normal after a transplant. the bulbs are 20w cfl's right now i only have the one because i couldnt find the extra hookup i had so im going to have to buy another. When i get the other part i need im planning to have one light above each individual plant. They shoot out 1200 lumens each so i think two should suffice right?

Deffinetly keep posting yourself too! Im on day 14 today and im hoping things jump start after today cause things have come to a slow hault up to today. Also i heard that after day 14 they grow faster than shit. You should post up your grow and pics in this thread too so we can help eachother out!

wanna c my plants and have a gd chat add me on msn [email protected]. light: omg this was a nightmare 4 me! Spent like £400 in the end! just on lights. so this is what i got out of me research..

It is recomended 2000 - 5000 lumens per sq ft i have a 10000 lm envirolight wiv daylight spectrum, covers 2sq' so thats 5000lm/sq' (keep in mind the sun produces 10000lm/sq' oviously wiv a daylight spectrum. Thats y things grow well in summer outside)

Also remember that you cant give your plant too much light only too little. what you using for flowering?

more info - the lights u have will grow it dont get put off by what i just said, the way to tell if the dont get enough light is if they grow tall 'strecthing for the light'.
as for watering theres a thread round here but dont ask me as i overwaterd it.
mine grew bout 2mm of leaf per day bit like urs, looked exactly like it. after the first couple of weeks its now growing several leafs per day! very fast

edit: im going to add pics either tomorrow morning or before i go to work so keep an eye out. Nothing has really changed...just the thing in the center grew a little taller...but nothing measureable its so small.

yea i usually dont get on MSN much but people i know have been using it lately so im on it and AIM. Im 18 and still livin with the rents....well...my great grandparents...who are considerably young...but thats another story. But my great grandma has been buying me supplies and such for the grow. she has been totally against marijuana from what i could tell growing up but she totally accepted this like it was nothing...dunno. she says back when she lived on the farm they grew hemp and stuff so she knows a little more about growing than me even lol

#2: The one i used to call retard...which seemingly somehow is better now. Its growing 5 leaf patterns where peter only grew 3...ironic..but i think its a male too.

Quick question..they seem considerably small for day 29 to me...either that or i havent been on this website in a while and im loosing my knowledge. Could it possibly be that its some lowryder? I dunno .. i wish i could tell what strain it is and if its indinca or sativa dominant...any help? i know its damn near impossible..but worth the shot to ask.

OH YEA! and the bottom little rounded leaves on Retard have completely shriveled up and died yet it still looks considerably healthy to me..is this normal? because its starting to happen to Peter too...they turn yellowish then start to shrivel up.....?

hey nice plants! There on their 4th node rite? look v healthy. I should have kept a record of my height as they grew then i could tell u how they were doin... keep a record of the measurements and fingers and on what date u record them then u can help other newbies and help urself inprove nxt time!

the botom leaves will come off - well die mine have its normal.
try not to let them bend towards the light move em round a bit, just so the grow straight, they will be able to support themselves better then :D

my newest set of leaves all had minor curling back all in the same spots(other plant is doing fine...perfect) and a few of the leaves are turning really darkish....is that a sign of way too much light? i had the lights 2-4 inches away so i moved em up to like 7-8 inches away

I think their supposed to be 4 inches away from the plant...

when the lights are on, put ur hand in between the lite and the top of the plant and keep it there for a bit, if that is a comfortable temp for u then ur plants will be ok, if its too hot its too hot for the plants

my one plant is doing AMAZING its really really really healthy other....could care less....but its day 44 and theyre utterly small so im just gonna go out on a limb and say its lowryder....lol its just bagseed so i had no idea what would grow but this doesnt suprise me...anyways....all of a sudden my gma is starting togo nuts..... what in the fuck....i just went downstairs to check on my babies after i smoked the most amazing weed ever called silver haze. So i get downstairs get to my plants...im stoned as hell...im talking to the fucking thing..all of a sudden the plant just moves im like ... HOLY SHIT ITS MOVING ITS MOVING!!! ... then i noticed...huge fucking bug...oh god....it was just sitting on the stalk just shaking...im like...this motherfckers high too...so i start spraying him with water and he gets all pissed off. Its like a black bug that resembles a beetle in shape but is black with red spots....fuck if i know....so after i sprayed him a lot he finally fell to the dirt...i then proceeded to attack him with a hacksaw blade that was nearby...i burried him under the dirt and sprayed it...then hed come back up after drowning and i hit him and burried him again.....then he came back up so i put the blade under him and flicked him up out of the plant and in to a spider web....where he is permastuck......i think i told him ... he betta respect my authoritah...any bugs on my plant are on death row......

now i noticed that the plant that is perfectly healthy and grand is getting some faint yellowishing in the middle of the leafs just very faint....any ideas? i cant have this one die too cause then i wont have anymore plants....i just water them regularly....its like 50 days old....lights on 24/7....nothing else...no nutrients or anything...the dirt said it had fert and nutes or something or other or i dunno so i figured that id be fine but i dunno what im talking about...huh? .... oh....yea...so....whats wrong with my plant guys?
