Well if your a month into flowering than i say there is something wrong becuase you can usually see signs of bud 1 or 2 weeks in if not less sometimes as low as 6 days.
it took my plants a month to begin budding properly, i was kinda freaked out also, give it time, theyl come thru eventually

read all replays. thanks. damn. this is my 1st time out & i thought everything was running smooth. maybe i do need to give it some time. the only thing im worried about now is those damn seeds someone said hope they are not male. dont know what that means but it doesnt sound good. i live in u.s. & traveled to canada to grab the seeds from a seed bank, they knew i was clueless to growing, hope they didnt get me. am i srewed or what?

Your not screwed....it sounds like your in the first month of vegetative growth from what you have said. After about 1 month or longer you put them under 12 hours light and 12 dark....thats when the flowering starts. If they are under 13-14+ hours of light they will stay in veg and get bigger until you flower them. Count on them 3x in size once in flower. Post pics if you can....that would help allot. For veg put them under 18-24hrs of light. Look for white hairs above when the branches come out....thats female. Balls, its male.

thanks. another question, so if i got males ill still see bud rite. and also im growing in a mini hydro shed (when i ordered i thought i was getting the 6 ft tall closet, but got a 3 1/2 ft on) my plants are almost to the top, what can i do about that. and 3 days ago i started 12 on 12 off with 400 watt lites so that means i should start seeing bud soon rite.

You will see bud starting in a couple weeks....males have balls, females have bud. Pull out the males when they show...there is plenty of time just make sure its male. Post pics and we can help if needed.

i read one of my post & you said you thought i was saying i was one month in veg satge. what i meant to say was that i was one month in from a seed to almost a 2ft. plant ( dont know if that was what you talkin about ) and i was sayin that i didnt see bud yet. i contacted the guys i got them from & they said that they are males. but you said i will still have a crop rite. also my plants are a hair away touching the top of the glass where my lite is. what should do about that? i have a sunlight shed 3ft tall. help me plaese. one more thing you also said when i see the balls on the males pull them out what were you talking about when you said that.

What he was talking about was you dont want the males cuz there no good unless you plan to make hash or something becuase all they do is pollinate the female plants creating seeds n that could ruin ur whole crop of females if u dont want seeds and for your plants being to tall im not sure if im correct so cyclonite correct me if im wrong...you could try training the plants by tie them down or bending and as for your friends you got the seeds from you cant tell if there males or not untill you switch the lights to 12/12 and it starts to show signs of sex etc. females will have buds or start off as lil white hairs and males will have balls. If you uploaded some pictures we would be able tohelp you out some more on the sexing part of it.

Sorry bout that i kinda didnt answer the wat he ment part about pulling them out so wat he means is seperate the males from the females if ur gonna use the males for hash or sometin but if ur not gonna use the males just throw em away..get rid of em.

First the basics.....
A female plant produces buds. A male plant produces flowers. A female plant can also produce male flowers, however, a male plant cannot produce buds. Male plants are useless unless you plan to cross breed or make rope. If you have a female that happens to be producing male flowers as well as buds, you can try to isolate that plant from the rest to prevent pollenating the females of the crop.
Females produce seeds in the buds once they're pollenated by male flowers. A good grow is females that never get pollenated whose buds swell to maximum size until harvest.
Again, male plants are almost useless.
In order to get your plant (female) to bud, you must deprive it of a full day of light. This is why you have the plants in absolute darkness 12 hours of the day during the flowering period. It sounds as though you've been in the vegetative state since the beginning and your plants are now too tall to finish in the size of room you have. Typically, a grower has his plants in the vegetative stage (18/24hrs of light) until it reaches 1/3 of the total finished hight. Then the plant will stretch another 1/3 during the first few weeks of 12/12hrs light cycle. It will continue the last 1/3 growth in the remaining weeks of bloom.

I always veg for a minimum of two months before going to a 12/12 flowering cycle ... but, I'm patient, and prefer quantity WITH quality ... patience pays off BIG ... :smokin:

Wait, I think he thinks the buds are suppose to grow according to the age of the plant lol. Actually the flowers are controlled by the photoperiod 1st time grower. That means you have to regulate the length of light and darkness that your plant gets for the flowers to produce.

thanks guys for all your input.im fucked. when i went to canada to get the seeds the guys @ the seed bank sold me all male seeds. i guess they knew i was a rookie & didnt know much about growin. i guess its back to the drawing board. this was my very 1st grow so i dont feel all that bad, it happens to the best of us rite. if @ 1st you dont succeed try try again. can you tell male seeds from female seeds or do have to wait until it flowers. im taking a trip back to canada to try it again. i dont wont to make the same mistake twice. and also i live in jersey do i have to travel to out the country to get my seeds or can i stay in the us & get em. i heard no one ships seeds to the u.s. is that true? thanks guys.

All male seeds? I don't think anyone can determine the sex of a seed until it's grown and shown it's flowers. I still think you have a chance of getting a female.

There is no such thing as male seeds....like orange was saying its determined later on. There is feminized seeds but thats just a better chance...you could still get males. There is many places that leave the legal aspects in your hands, they will ship. You really need to read up...sounds like you have a great deal to learn. Im on my first grow also....but iv read about it for about 6 years
Order from here....good people they are...yes

I'll agree there's no way to tell the sex of a plant until it actually is growing though.

Seeds have everything they need to be male or female, there is no seed that is 100% predetermined to be male or female. I'm not saying that we just dont know, the seed doesn't either. There are a number of unknown variables (to me anyways, besides temp humidity ect...) that determine the sex if I remember correctly.

Then why would you have 4 of 5 plants be female and have 1 male if all of the conditions were the same and the plants grown using all the same elements, why would that 1 plant turn male?

You can only favor female plants forming, the reason for the 1 male in identical conditions are the variables that I don't know and have no control over (genetic stuff). Its was possible that the male could have been female as well...I look at it as a genetic roll of the dice, you can increase the odds in your favor with certain environmental conditions.
