Hi guys just wanted to check if this will work, i have wetted and gently rang out a large paper towel and place my seeds in the middle, then wrapped the towel up and placed in a plastic self seal bag and placed it on my modem as it`s quite warm there, is this ok ? How long should i wait? Many thanks.
Thanks all will keep you posted.

Hi Gunge, thats exactly how i germinated my seeds, like 12 days ago, they sprouted in less than 24 hours :)

Mine are Northern Lights x 10 plus 4 unknown, they are about 3 inches with 2 sets of true leaves, a bit straggly but thats cos ive not got them under proper lights yet..

just make sure that there is a little air inside the plastic and make sure the modem isn't too warm. i use a papertowel inside a ziplock bag
(with a little air in it) placed on a small book on top of the tv. the book is to make sure the seeds don't get to hot. seeds will usually germ in 18-72 hrs this way. good luck

Never had northern lights but seem to be quite popular, hope all goes well. What type of light are you going to use for blooming ?
I have a wardrobe fitted out with a 250w HPS and carbon filter and plenty of ventilation, i have lined the room with white painted floor and walls and i think i`ll have room for 2 or 3 girls, mine are mexican sative and i understand they can get up to 2-3 meters so i`m going to bloom them after a couple of weeks of vegging and LST them to keep the height down and may even add some warm CFL`s to the aid the mid and lower branches, can`t wait.
Yes this is my first grow :)

Thanks good advice, i`m going to burp the bag every few hours to let in fresh air, i would say the modem is warm but not to too hot, the towel is nice and moist so i think they should`nt cook.

You want to maintain a high humidity. so everytime you "burp" it you're lowering that humidity level.

Thanks BobBong, maybe i`ll leave be then and let nature do it`s stuff. It`s funny that although this is my first grow i have become passionate about everything being right, i have read so much and beleive i can do it un-aided but it`s nice to bein touch with growers alike.
Cheers all.

i'm still poking around, and i'd be happy to answer your questions as best i can. i'm not on the computer too often these days but i'll try to keep my eye out. i always look at threads relating to scrog just to see what's going on. i am in the process of getting the equipment for a 1kw hps "cooltube" scrog that i will be starting in a few months when my probation is over!!
