ok here is my set-up. It is a burrow. It is pretty big, i only want four short plants. I have it pretty well lit up. I have 3 42w CFL's and one 24'' gro-lux. I also have a small fan up top to move air around in side and to make the plants stronger. I am only going to do two more things. First i am going to get a thin peice of wood the size of the front and make a good door with hinges. Second i am going to cut a vent hole in the back and attach a dryer hose and suck the air out the window with a fan. How does this look guys?

I just wanted to tell you guys that the lights are so low becuase i am getting ready for the small seedlings. I got the chain and hook set up so it will be ease to move up and down!

I just pull three light sokcets out of some lamps around the house and the other is a hood of an aquarium that i was not using. When they are ready for flowering i am going to get a nice HPS system.

i just put another small flourescent in there. It is only a small 15w but it will help a little. So that is a total of like 30450 lumens for 4 plants (pretty good i guess). My seeds still have like a day or two left for germ. I will then get some nice soil for seedlings and when they get bigger i have already orderd the fox farms Ocean Forest soil and the nutrients.

All good but have you considered painting the space all matt white or better yet spending a few bucks on Mylar sheeting? Also a single 150 watt HPS would give better light distrution. Thumbs up my man

I am going to paint the inside white and I always thought that flourescents were good for seedlings and veg. and HPS was good for flowering.

I was just joshing with ya anyways. The talon I might believe but the supra I would be more skeptical about. No biggie though man, who knows, you probably do.

It just seems everyone into cars the slightest bit all "have a 900hp Supra." :p

Ok i got home today and my seedlings have grown. One is out of its seeds and starting to get leaves. the other is still woriking its way out. The big one has kinda a problem. The tips of it small first leaves are yellow. What is this from? Just from being i the seed? Could it have to do with heat becuase it was to hot in here (I fixed that)?

PS. Is the lighting for a seedling 18/6?

The lighting for a seedling is usually 24/0 with CFLs.
Although it CAN be 18/6, with stronger lights.

The yellowing...I don't know. I've never had that problem. The only problem i've ever had with seedlings is stretching. And that can be fixed with a fan, and about 2 weeks time.

But I dunno. I've never experienced yellowing before in a seedling. Perhaps your lights are too low, or you may even be over-watering. That's anyone's guess...I dunno. Never had that problem.

I noticed this in my sprout...it was caused by no light hitting where the seed casing hadn't completely fallen off yet. mine greened up after I removed.

On Here are my seedlings. I have got my fox farm now. Onw seedling was planted last sunday (5th) and the other two were planted ttuesday (7th). How do they look. By the way they are in huge clean cups with big holes drilled into the bottom. I plan on re planting them soon when there ready for the fox farms ocean forest soil (too powerful for right now).

..no need to transplant..until ..roots are coming out the bottom of the pot..You do have holes??..in the bottom of your pots..don't you..??..at least the size of a dime..

yeah i have holes (4 in each bottom) My plant pots are clear and i can see the root almost all the way down it. Should i wait to i see them come out the bottom?

Ok the holes are dime size and yes the roots have come out the bottom. I have the pots sides coverd. I have transplanted 2 of them tonight and i think did an ok job. One is kinda herting but i think it will fix its self (not that bad). And one is like perfect. I will transplant the other tomorrow and post pics.

Ok here are the PICS. They look good. I am going to transplant the other one tomorrow. The one on the right is the one i think i hert a little but she has perked right back up!:thumbsup: I left a little room on top of both pots so when they get bigger i can put more soil in and the stem will turn to root.

Here are all three. I have nick named them. The first one is bushy bc it is really short but insanly bushy. The second is long leaf bc its leafs are really big. Third is goody bc it is like great bushness and lenth. I think they are doing great. One will be 2 weeks tomorrow and the others will be like 1 week and 5 days. I just started them on there secind week of food (fox farms and super thrive).

OK they are 1 day over 2 weeks and looking pretty good i think. They are kinda short though (6-7'') is this short for 2 weeks? Should i move the lights higher to make the plant grow a little more vertically, the lights are about 1'' away? When does the plant go from seedling to vegetation, I thought it was one week but maybe not. I just want to get a time frame. I think i should have already started but i have been busy so i will start today with the 18/6 lighting. One has a one inch branch at its first nod and a small tiny branch at is nod higher up. The other 2 just have one small tiny branch at its first nod. Should i tie them down to get light on the side better, BC they have big leaves and it block lot of light.

...the next step...is finding a good grow guide..(there are thousands on the internet)...or I can steer you towards the one I used..if you can't find one....plus the FAQ's..on this site..it's hard to walk you thru it..day by day..

i understand what your saying. I can't really find the avarge hieght of a 2 week old plant. I know they all grow differnt but just want to make sure they are on the right track. They are getting bigger and the branches are growing fast! They are starting to smell too.

I have to grow in a small box, but if you LST(low stress training) you can control how tall they get. This is what saves me or i could not finish a grow.

a 250wtt light would be plenty for 3 plants, i would LST them aswell. a 400wtt light means more heat and if you get to hott the 400 watter just means you screwed everything. a 250 is practical, if you can adjust temp then a 400 will work and give u better results. but if your venting is poor i would scratch the idea.
