Tobacco a relatively safe form of pest control?

The land I live on has been infested with fire ants for quite some time. I just recently heard about using tobacco tea as an insecticide and decided to start collecting the innards of all the blunts I smoke. After collecting about 25 or so blunts worth of tobacco I boiled it all and made a pretty highly concentrated tea. I have a lawn and garden sprayer that straps to your back, so I filled that up with hot water and added the tea and walked around the yard, soaking all of their mounds. Low and behold, no more fire ants.

Would this same stuff, perhaps with a weaker concentration, be safe for use on marijuana plants? I'm not concerned with carcinogens somehow getting into the plant or anything, I just don't want to kill some of my ladyfriends on accident.

tobacco juice is an old home remedy for insect problems ... it should be safe enough .. ? ... I dont use it ... I use the 'chemical' insecticides you can buy at any nursery or hardware store ... IF you buy the ones that are safe for Fruits and Vegetables, you're set ... quite often, they use a scary-sounding chemical called 'Pyrethrins' ... oooh, scary-sounding, isn't it ? ... :D , it's actually an active ingredient from crocus-flowers, and marigolds, that bugs don't like (I can't stand the odor of a marigold, either :D ) ... in fact, planting marigold flowers around your outdoor garden keeps most insects, and sometimes even rabbits, etc, out of your garden ... insecticides that are safe for edible foods, break down into harmless compounds after a few days ... don't be afraid ... :smokin:

I use it on a regular basis during the course of the summer, as a deterent
I use a very strong solution for the kill on contact, when infected

the tobacco plant has it own disease the "tobacco disease" this does not mean they all have it , infact, few do, anyways you must boil water while making the tea to kill this, and any other pathogens it may carry .
