Hey ive got two white widow plants and ones about a foot the other 10inch, apart from some nute burn aweek back there looking very nice. Good sideshoot growth, slight twisting of the leaves but its going away after i over did it with the furts. I have to turn my lights on and off manually due to low funds, on at 6 in the morning and off at 9 (15/9).
i was taking a close look at yesterday and a found a tiny little bud with two hairs (pistols) sticking out, looked around alittle more and found 1 or 2 more.
Now i want to plan to harvest around xmas so i guess this early budding aint too much of a problem. However i do have some questions, if i start lower the light cycle now, will the plants get a good amount of bud on by harvest time?
will the growth slowdown to feed the buds more?
if someone could roughly say the amount of each plant that would be great. ill setting for 14g off each (first grow so i dont kno whats realistic)
Oh and is it normal to start this early, or was it my short light cycle that did it. cheers

Not sure you're in flowering or not. Just because you see hairs doesn't mean you are, as those could be preflowers. If you veg long enough, you see the hairs even without flowering. But with that light cycle, it's possible they are now flowering.

What kind of lighting will you have during flowering? That'll be the single most important determining factor with yield (although everything else affects that too: strain, veg time, plant size, pot size, nutrients, temps, humidity, etc). Can't even make a guess without knowing what your lighting will be during flowering. 14g dry off each would be pretty low though - you'll probably get more than that unless you're going to flower with CFLs.

When they begin flowering, they'll grow much more...for 2-3 weeks, anyway. Might grow an inch a day for a while, maybe a bit less because that's an Indica-dominant strain. If height is a concern then you should probably flower immediately. The hairs you saw are the sign that the plant is sexually mature now and ready to be flowered whenever you are. Actually the calyxes (the little pod-looking things from which the hairs sprout) are the sign of sexual maturity, and the hairs mean it's female.

Cheers m8. im using a 600watt HPS so i think i should get some good buds, im gonna start lowing the light cycle then, half an hour a night. that sound ok m8?
also what do you think to having a 600watt HPS for 2 plants? will they get some kick ass buds?
