Hey Guys

Dont Know if you remember me, but was posting on here couple months back with some problems we had. Ended up completly throwing my 1st attempt growing NFT hydro. This is my 2nd attempt and im going to Record EVERYTHING i do here every couple of days. If any1 spots anything that does sound right please let me know as im really keen to see this grow a success.

Thats the link to my last attempt

Lights - Had it on 24/7 but after reading some more info ive decided against it. Back to a 18/6.

Heat- Been a bit of a problem but i know the best heat is around 28 C so trying to keep it there but if the Closets doors are closed, even with the extractor fan its way too hot. Having to keep doors open.

Nute- Ive added half the suggested strength of nutes. The CF reading should be 20 at full nutes, its reading 13.5 now. This ok?

Water - The flow is set to timer, its on 45mins of the hour when lights on 15 mins off. When the lights are off it reverses to 15 mins on 45 mins off in the hour. Can any1 suggest anything about this? The water level in the trays is only about 1-3mm deep its a very fine layer flowing constantly over the whole bottem of the tray.

Airstones - The air stones (2 of them about 15cm long 2 cm wide) are running constantly. Is that right? or ok>?
Any other things you think i should be including?

Couple of questions.
1. I got these as clones, in some sort of binded earth around roots. I just put them in pots and fulled with the clay ball medium around the outside. The roots dont look as though they can touch the water, will they grow to the Film of water at the bottem (keep in mind this is 1st day of grow im writing this) Last time I rid it off all the dirt i could and filled the clay medium around the actual roots, not the earth thats bound around the earth like this time. The water level in the trays is only about 1-3mm deep its a very fine layer flowing constantly over the whole bottem of the tray.

2. When do you think they would be ready for FULL nutes?

3. PH is fluctuating ALOT. I lower it to 5.5 and in couple of hours (say 6) its back to 6 or even higher. What can be causing this?

4. Water Temp. Whats the idea temp? Im keeping it as low as possible really adding ice cubes when the temp seems luke warm as i heard cold is best as it holds more oxygen.

SORRY ABOUT PICS GUYS. Im using cell phone at moment and the lights mess with the pic as u can see. Im getting digi cam back soon!

one plants a little burnt on edge, was like that when we got it how could I cure? Looks like heat to me, cant be nute related could it?

Are you using RO or distilled water? My ph jumped all over the place and would NOT stay stable on regular (well) water. RO water solved that problem.
Still can't help you with the timing stuff. Good luck

Heys guys

Woke up this morning checked on the babys. Can already see obvious growth with all of them.
PH was just about 6, put it back to 5.5. Were using a liquid Ph down.

We will using tap water, whats RO water sorry? Do you just mean distilled? How would you recomend it be distilled? Filtered? Boiled? Or Boiled and steam collected?

Thanks guys
