i am a pro photographer and have read that mylar is best for reflecting light- I on a professional level disagree- mylar causes hot spots- specular highlights- where white creates an even reflective surface- i teach photo lighting classes so I do know about reflective light- as far as eggshell paint goes- it is the same as flat just the manufactores label for it- good luck

eggshell is a bit more shiney than flat matt, some paint manufacturers describe a simmilar sheen/finish as "silk"
i think it would be fine. matt is ideal, but egg shell is beter than gloss.

i have used mylar , but w/ monsta hydro going we ended up w/ moldfest 06 between it n walls it's been applied to . once ripped dwn. walls washed and primed we used satin white , due to it's being more washable compared to flat . it seems it's brighter now than w/ the mylar . you go fukn snowblind you walk in the room now .
