I have never been asked "seriously" by anyone "Are you gay?". But then, when I did tell my friends that I'm gay, I was told that they never knew at all because I have strait manerisms.
"I'm just your average joe who happends to have a bf instead of a gf." :)

it doesnt bother me when people are gay. I like gay people, they're fun. I don't like it when I can't tell though, and I know thats wrong but its the truth

Some people of course you can tell because they wear it with pride. Others you can tell by kind of getting to know them. But that isn't always the case. There is no sure fire way to tell if someones gay.

Im gay and there is, we all check out hot guys the way a straight would check out a woman, its quite subtle but you can tell gay guys have more of a gaydar than anyone else in general.
not alot of the people I know know that im gay cause it doesnt really concern them y'know, like that guy said earlier, im just a normal guy who happens to like guys.

Yea but you cant tell for sure. I bet you can convince yourself you knew someone was gay after you found out but really, there is no sure fire way to tell. I know straight kids who dress gay just because they like it (and because they're european)

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sometimes you can just tell if a guy is looking at a chicks ass when she walks by. That whole "up, down, up, down" look they get in their eyes when they switch between her ass and the back of her head. If you watch someone, its not hard to tell, and since gay guys look at other guys I'd imagine they'd realize when they were checking out another guy.

Mine works pretty well most of the time.
But then again, my cousin is gay, and I had NO idea. He was in the Air Force and shit, and he worked on jets. I was really tripped up on that one..
But hes a pretty damn good guy, I like him and him being gay doesnt affect the relationship I have with him at all.

I'm straight and have a reasonably well-tuned gaydar for gay men, whether they look or act femme or not, as long as I have the chance to interact with them for a few moments. I've found that gay men respond to me as a woman in a completely different way, generally, than straight men do. The gay guys I'm acquainted with have a way of looking right through you without the same sort of check-out appraisal technique straight ones employ. It's almost unconscious on their part, but it's an absence of interest on a very basic level that gives them away every time.
I'm far less well able to identify gay women or bisexual people of either gender. And I mostly don't care about identifying anyone one way or the other, now that I think about it. What matters far more to me is whether someone is kind. Or intelligent. Or caring. Or funny.

Well, I'm bisexual, and I have a lot of gay/female-ish mannerisms, but my male ones dominate me so completely that no one EVER expected me to be bisexual.
Everyone I told was like "Wha!?"
I recall from another recent post you said you were a virgin...

The times I have thought people were gay, were.
My old boss at this resturaunt I worked at last year, I knew he was gay from the second I met him. Just imagine a fatter, gayer version of Jack from Will and Grace (TV show). It was obvious, but he was the coolest guy. He'd come out and puff doobs all the time with us after work and at work. He didn't care.
Another co-worker I thought was gay, but then he told me had a wife, and a few kids, so I thought maybe he was just always chipper. A few months later some ugliness happened with someone fidning out he was gay, and some rumours were spread around. He then told me he was gay after explaining the current situation, so it turns out I was right! :p

I can usually tell when someone's gay (men and women) but sometimes, it's really hard to tell. I've met people that I thought they SHOULD be gay. You know...there are some friggin manly women or sissy men out there.

I don't really care if someone is gay. I have feminine qualities, and I'm straight. But I was raised around mostly females so I see women as a people, not "a piece of ass" or whatever. So it's cool.

No of course it doesn't matter to me either, but it should be important to know if you a gay man looking for another gay man or a girl looking for a girl. It would be embarassing kind of to not know. Knowledge is knowledge unless you're going to start hate crimes against gays then thats a problem.
Doesn't hurt to know. I like to know actually.

You know, there really is no way to tell with some of us queers. I have my femme "moments" but most people didn't know until I came out. And it was such a big deal to everyone and they all made it their business just because it was so unexpected. I can definitely say that over time, though, I've developed more and more feminine mannerisms...it's easy to do that once you know everyone knows and don't give a fuck what they think.
Lots of queens just flash it to the world, and these are usually the ones that live up to all the stereotypes and set a bad name for decent gay peoples. They did it to themselves and to us!

gay or european, that's too hilarious...
I voted 50 times to get a broader sense of it, and my score was 50%. When a long-time gay guy only gets 50%, you KNOW there's no way to really tell.

Haha, I got 80%. I just pressed "gay" to mostly anyone who had a kinda queer looking smile or was posing. Straight guys don't pose for pics.

My gaydar is pretty much right on. Probably because I dated the biggest dyke in the entire world for about a year. She tuned that thing quite well. Haha, nah but seriously..gaydars are really just about how good of an imagination you've got.

well, i was at a party before, and we were all smokin weed in the kitchen and this kid comes in, and starts looking around at all of us, at this point my gaydar was going haywire and so was everyone elses by the looks of them, anyway, he comes in, looks around and makes a rude comment about our weed smoking habits, and then leaves, the second he left the room we all burst out laughing, and someone shouted some kind of homosexual insult through the house towards him, next thing we knew we were being kicked out of the party as it was actually HIS house, and HIS party, then it got nasty, everyone i was with started running around breaking shit, and basically trashing the party, everyone i wasnt with was givin ME bad looks even tho i had said or done nothing, anyway, about an hour after it started, the homewrecking stopped, it was a fucking mess, literally every plant in the garden had been yanked out (poor plants) the fridge had been emptied and tipped over, nearly every glass in the house got broken, funiture was set alight, and a few of the doors had been man-handled off the hinges, and all because he was gay, and he didnt want us smoking in his kitchen, i couldnt beleive it, me and my friend stayed and helped clean up (after explaining we hadnt done anything and felt bad for the kid - who was close to tears) and from then on me and my friend didnt bother speaking to the people we came with, and actually made friends with the gay guy and had a smoke in his room where we were actually allowed to lol,
I think the gaydar is effectively a bad thing, (if you hang out with pricks) and obviously gays are fine with me, (as long as they dont try it on lol) sorry bout the long story, it kind of started off to the point and then i got lost along the way, oh well, its a story i guess

You know...there are some friggin manly women .....
Farm girls
Firefighters
Women who work commercial fishing
...or sissy men out there.
Dudes who sit in a cubicle all day and think they're tough because they go to the gym....
I've dealt with both categories... never thought that any of the people should be gay. I was more like, wow, you go, girl!!! Way to carry that whole bale of hay under one arm!

you're kinda almost right, scooby, at least in my opinion, but who am I?
anyways, I think love has nothing to do with sexuality; sex has to do with sexuality, however.
i love so very many people, gay and straight, and it would be vicious for me to say that i hated anyone, no matter how much they've wronged me for my crap...
back to the point, anybody is capable of loving anyone, regardless of gender, and sex is merely a bonus. love does not need sex, however. love only needs acceptance and understanding and forgiveness when we wrong each other.
OK I'm starting to REEEEALLYYY sound corny but you all know what I'm sayin. So anyways I love you all and you should tell somebody you love them today/tonight and also ask someone to forgive you for being wrong to them, and I guarantee you'll feel better than before.
It's only gay if you say it's gay!! ;)
