How do you measure time?
By the circling of the moon and the drop of the fall leaves.
By the rise and fall of tides and progression of wrinkles on my hands.

lol i always count from when they pop, as its like a baby, (you dont count how long the embryo was made for,) you start counting when its born, keep a peice of paper and name your plants, put the names on the paper, and make a tally chart, everyday just add another tick to each one, also take down birthdays, my m8s plant has been alive for a whole year, and we celebrated her birthday with a nice big blunt just the other day, its in the final stages of flowering now, just remember plants are like people, seed-->egg n sperm, germinating seed-->embryo, seedling-->baby, then adolescent, adult, and eventually past its sell by date.. count it however you will, it hardly matters :)

on another note - when does vegetative growth start? when u plant it, after the first node, after the first 'true leaf' (meaning a leaf that has 3 fingers or more...)

I copnsider veg growth to start when it's old enough to be fed. So after 3 or 4 nodes. In my grow, that coincides with the first transplant as well.

i start a grow with a mass seeding and thinning from the first sprout. Then thinning as necessary (every few days). The only date I'd relate to any one of the crop would be that first date of seeding. I can imagin in my seeding box..."when did this one pop, Saturday or was it last Thursday?????
So, do you name all theses???

Well in the long fun 6 days wont matter in it's growth.
Zandor says that veg starts once the plant has 4 true nodes, and the fifth is developing. You start nutes then.

I think names are good for plants if it is a clone mother or some other perpetually living plant. I think naming plants that you're going to bud, harvest and smoke is kind of like naming the thanksgiving turkey
