I started smoking when I was in 8th grade and smoked up until this past april with a few breaks in that time period. I guess just one day I got tired of it, it wasn't the same as when I first started so I figured what's the point? It wasn't as fun as it used to be. While I have no problem with people that still do smoke I'm just wondering why they make such a big deal about when someone wants to quit? Maybe it's just the people I hang around with who knows, but I haven't looked back and don't ever get the urge to do it anymore. Anyone else had somethin like this go on?

Hasn't happened to me yet but if it does I wont regret it because even though I really like it now and don't think I'll stop in the future, if I do I think that it would be best for me. So I'm not worried about it, how ever my brain figures it out will be fine with me lol.

That's why it may be better to start later in life. As you get older less and less stuff seems cool or fun, so you need to reserve certain special treats for yourself to do later in life.

Oh, and substances such as cannabis are best reserved for certain occassions, or periodic occassions that are like weekly rituals and such. Traditional practices in, say, indigenous societies that are considered rituals never get boring or old, they have a certain power to them.

That makes a lot of sense:thumbsup:

I start getting bored when my tolerance gets up to where smoking a bowl even out of my bong only gives me a buzz a little heavier than a cig would. I don't smoke cigarettes but I've smoke a few so. I just intentionally run out of bud take a week or so off, most currently a month long one. Now my tolerance is extremely low so it puts the fun back in it, i hadn't geeked out in a long time. Now i'll just get a bag and smoke probably twice a day at night until i run out and then wait around a week to get another bag so my tolerance stays low.

After a while I noticed I wasn't bored of the smoke, just the way I was smoking it.

Now I go on a lot more hikes and find a lot of cool new places in this incredible jungle of hills and canyons I call southern california. It never gets boring because I'm always on the move. I wish I could show you flat-landers some of the incredible places here, firsthand.

You summed up how I feel about it sometimes. I ALWAYS seem to crave smoking when I don't have it. And when I finally score a bag, it's like 'eh, so what?' It's weird.

Trainwreck + Vaporizer + Downtown L.A. = Never, ever gets old for me.

I know what you mean...I smoked a lot during my first 3 years of getting lit, then my 4th year I smoked too much, and this year and last year, I haven't that much at all. Now I usually smoke...then won't smoke again for a month. For me, its not a social drug, and I like parties and such...so I drink more than I smoke.

I think you'll get bored of anything you do in excess.
But eventually, after doing other things, you'll prolly wake up one day and remember how much fun toking was, and buy another bag.

I have gotten somewhat bored with it before. Usually when I binge on it for a week, I get stoned every night, but sometimes I'll smoke twice during the day, and if I do that a few times during the week then it gets old cause by the time I smoke at night, the feeling is all too familiar so its like "eh...I was still buzzin', now I'm just high, for the third time. Maybe I shouldn't have bothered"

After over 30 years never missing a day, bored is not in the equation ever. The last 10 years have been increasingly for the medicinal benefits. When you smoke for the relief of whatever condition or disease etc., it totally changes your perception. Cannabis is special and discovering that every day is special.
