If I'm going to train my plants, I start when side growth shows. So about 5-6 nodes. I'm sure others do it differently.

All depends on how extreme you'd like to get...I've started at 3rd node.

the main reson for it is that my plants have outgrown the space in my mini hydroponic system and i need to have them spaced out untill i get enough cash to build another larger one, so im going to use th LST to bend them in opposit directions of eachother so all the foliage as room to soak up the light and grow. later on im also going to do SuperCropping and the SCROG method.

LSting is very strait forward, here are some pics of a plant I just finished tying today.
As someone said b4, if you have a big elaborate plan, like I do, then you probably wana start early. I started tying once it was on itā??s 6th node and what I did was tie all the off shoots on one side of the plant down so they would get more light.
I did this because I was going to bend over the main stem in the opposite way that I have tied the off shoots. Since I have topped this plant it is very bushy and has a lot of growth tips.
There are no rules to LSTing only guildlines.
-donā??t bend the plant too much (donā??t risk breaking stem) do larger bends over a few days
-donā??t bend too many stems at once as it just stresses out the plant more.
Thatā??s really all I follow, and I find it rather fun
Hope this helps
