America Needs A United Party! Now!
Dear Party(s),
Thank Libertarian Party (LP) and sfgate.com for all the Presidential Candidates vote counts. I found them very interesting.
The Reform Party (RP) took 495,734 votes. I looked at their founding platform and found nothing UnConstitutional about it. It looked like they needed reforms, which most likely would come from a Constitutional government anyway.
The Libertarian Party's 396,658 votes added to the RP votes would take our battles to the rank of 900,000 voices in unison instead of divided whimpers. Can the Libertarian Party not adopt reform rights officially into their Constitutional Rights Platform?
The Green Party, with an almost identical base platform as the LP had votes that came to 105,966. That could have swelled our ranks to over one million. One million voices could have been in unison, instead of pockets of similar minds desperate for exposure.
One million voices could have avoided duplication, extra expenditures, lack of numbers. I have looked at the Green Party Platform, I found nothing Unconstitutional about them. Do the GPs, RPs or any other Ps have a problem with adding the Constitutional Rights to their platforms? The Constitution Party's 147,743 votes would be nice, but, they have a stance on abortion that is definitely Unconstitutional. I do not believe that plank can be accepted by the Libertarian Party, Green Party, and Reform Party.
"With earnest prayers to all my friends to cherish mutual good will, to promote harmony and conciliation, and above all things to let the love of our country soar above all minor passions , I tender you the assurance of my affectionate esteem and respect." Thomas Jefferson
In addition, 3,646 people disliked the candidates they knew, and knew so little about other candidates, that they voted for "None of These Candidates". Would one million voices in unison have been loud enough for them to hear this year?
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be. The functionaries of every government have propensities to command at will the liberty and property of their constituents. There is no safe deposit for these but with the people themselves; nor can they be safe with them without information. Where the press is free, and every man able to read, all is safe." Thomas Jefferson
