I'm just sitting here rather high, listening to some music, and I got thinking something.... I've been wanting to find some good mellow music, but it seems the only bands that give that to me are metal bands. Like not dramaticly soft crap, but just softer cords. Then I realized a lot of those chords that I like in soft songs from metal bands are similar to blues. So I'm thinking, are there any bands that do a blues type of music but more like a metal band would do it? Not like that tap your feet to a beat type blues that's more fun than blues, but like more lounge/electric guitar type blues (B.B. king did some of this, I think Eric Clapton did too but I haven't heard a lot of his stuff. Though I think he's awsome from what I've heard). I hope that all makes sense, but if you know what I mean and know a good band that would be awsome.

Maybe check out Down, and Corrosion of Conformity. They have a Southern heavy rock sound to them. You might like them.

i would also say black sabbath i dont know if any other people can realize this but toni iommi's guitar riffs and solos are all blues based solos and definitly said by The Colonel said Led Zeppelin is almost exactly what you are looking for.. but with all rock & roll (metal included) it was completely formed from Blues.. so every song out their has deep roots to blues so your not particular going to find a band that is exactly metal/blues but more or less a few bands with a few songs like that....

I had been trying to remember the name of a Blues Artist for the longest time, his music was always real nice to jsut chill to..., and his name was always on the tip of my brain but never managed to squeeze his name out of my memory, but after reading this thread I had a surge of long term memory yay! BLIND WILLIE McTELL!!
