seriously, much rather spend that money on pot itself.. esecially because a bong could break...and that would be an expensive mistake

i think roors should come with like insurance... called stoners insuracne... plus, if you had a roor, im sure, you would do everything in your power to keep it from breaking

shit happens i did everything to keep my scorpion bong from breaking... i even thought about it alot and would get paranoid cuz it meant alot to me... and then sooner or later through the years you're going to let your guard down....
for that reason alone i've decided to have no attatchment to any peice what so ever... just gonna get something that looks cool smoke out of it and if it breaks, fuck it. i'll get a new one...

The reason why Roors are so expensive is because they are VERY well made. They also hit (from what I hear) amazing. The brand name thing probably is a big part of the cost too and they still do seem overpriced, but they still are amazing bongs and the performance definitely counts over aesthetics, for me at least.
I do think Roors are great pieces of art too, the color/decoration on them is always very subtle and that's what makes them look so great IMO. Plus, with clear glass, you get to see the smoke fill up the bong, which is awesome.

I'm sure all Roors are great, but I read that beakers drag a bit, whereas straights give a smoother hit. Beakers filter the smoke more, though. I'm not sure if you were aware of this or not, just wanted to let you know since I found this out after buying the same bong (in which I cancelled the order before it shipped), and it made me change my decision on which bong to get.
Also, get a diffuser in addition to any Roor you purchase if you can. They filter the smoke much more and give smoother hits.

Hell, I wouldn't spend more than 300 dollars on a bong... 1700?! HELLS no. If it gets you stoned, you won't really care as much how smooth it hit. Just THAT it hit.
Save up your money and buy us all some good mids with that moolah!

Damn, you guys are crazy. There is a shop near me that has thick glass bongs with all your favorite colors and designs for $30-$50 bucks. I don't use bongs really, but I would never pay hundreds of dollars for one.

Yeah dude I hear Roors are awesome, but think about it. Is a Roor bong going to get you higher than an equally well made bong that doesn't have the word "ROOR" on it? You'd never, ever catch me spending $1700 on a bong. That thing is kinda plain looking.
When I first read the thread topic I thought the thread creator was considering whether or not to buy a half pound of weed, not a bong.
I'd rather spend $0.99 on a pack of zig zags. You rip a rolling paper, oh well, that's like 3 cents out the window. You accidentally tip that $1700 bong over, and you've got problems.

I am still new to all of this. Is the main benefit of a bong, pulling the smoke through water? I guess to soften it up a bit.
I have read that the water removes more THC than tar.

I was looking in to vaporizers thinking they were a little pricey. I had no idea a bong could set you back that much.
This is something new. http://pocketvape.net

Roors are generally much more affordable than that. I agree they are overpriced, but most of cost of this either comes from the brand Shiva, not Roor, and/or the possibility that they are customs and not very many of them made. It's no doubt a ridiculous price, but look at the price of non-custom Roor bongs and see the price difference.

My response to this in another thread:
The only way THC can be filtered out in water is by being attached to the tars, since it isn't water-soluble.
http://www.maps.org/news-letters/v05n1/05119wps.html
Due to stems/seeds/leaves having a higher tar content than buds do, it's possible that the studies that have shown that water filters out more THC than tars is because those were used instead/in combination with the buds. This is only a guess, but if that's true then smoking cannabis correctly (buds only) would most likely prove the opposite, and is probably the reason why water pipes are shown to be effective. Regardless, I get fucking blazed off of bongs... much moreso than pipes, meaning I will continue using water filtration as much as possible.

Bongs have many benefits; smoother hits, filtration, cooling, a huge fucking tube that allows you to take massive bong rips, sliders...

Wow, for a $1700 bong, it sure it fuckin ugly. :p I think it is.
I had a hard enough time spending $70 a bong, let alone $1700, and it hits just fine. A bong is a bong, either way, it will get you stoned.
I myself find roors rather plain as well. I could care less what kind of spaced aged, hitting diffuser glass it's made from. I like color and character, those are so dull and whoop-ee.

i guess its an ego thing. like the wigger kids and hats to locations they never been to. or kids dressing goth because they like my chemical romance.
but man, its a roor. ;) lol.
^ego thing. see?
a 50-100$ local bong is just as good. and its currently what I use.

$300 is a lot of dough for a bong that looks so plain.

For $1700 I want something that will bake me cookies and maybe make me a sandwich... maybe run out for some pizza and then give me a back rub.
I can understand wanting to own something that isn't plastic, but if you are ready to lay down a ton of cash you should find a local blower that will make you exactly what you want.

$1700 does seem like a lot of money, but the benefits of a Roor are priceless. Until you have hit a Roor it is hard to understand why they are so great. Every Roor bong is just a little bit different (real custom-made Roor bongs), which comes from being hand made by a skilled artist. But at the same time, you must also appreciate the engineering that is implemented into a Roor bong. Everything from the thickness of the glass to the angle of the stem are taken into account. The final product is a nearly indestructible (7mm thick Roors), aesthically pleasing BEAST that produces the thickest, whitest smoke that you will encounter anywhere. I have fond memories of every time that I have come into contact with a Roor bong.
So would I pay $1700 for a bong?
I would get the Blue one...
...if I had a job.

If I had the income to buy one, I would consider it, but now I get by with my $20 glass pipe and $.99 bic lighter.
I'd rather spend the $1700 on a 1/2 pound of Sour Diesel from my man :)

i'd be laughing my ass off when someone managed to break it too, i don't care how nearly indestructible they are, spend that money and watch someone actually find a way to break it...
