Ok I'm moving out of my apartment after christmas. My grow must be completed and cured (jarred) by mid december. I'm pretty sure I need to start flowering now, and even that might not be enough time.

Anyhow, my 5 plants germed a month ago, and have been growing under cfls

I was thinking about getting an 250 watt hps to increase my yield, then sell it right after the grow. Would it be a great improvement over 6 26 watt cfls? (i.e. worth the trouble)

after you use the 250 trust me you wouldnt even think about selling it your yield will be over triple what CFLs's could do on thier best day, yes flower now and christmas day it should be done or a few days within being done, remember its 7-8 weeks alone for a complete flower cycle.

Dude im trying to squeeze mine in for the same time period. I'm doing an all flouro grow as well, but that 250w hps in H.D.for $30 has caught my eye. Do you know if you can screw that into any fixture rated for 250w or do you need a special fixture?

You will need a special fixture called a "Mogul" socket to screw in ANY HID light bulb. $30 sounds like a really really good price, make sure a ballast comes with it otherwise you are wasting your money. Peace

haha yeah i wish i could keep it, but I can't grow in my new place :(
