lets say i bought a pound, and spread it over a year and just used a little every day and sealed the baggie good with no moisture. what about that ive always wondered if somewhere people throw shit away for that reason

ya dude i had to throw a qp away one time cause i left it in the closet just sealed in a big baggy while i went on vacation, i came back and theres white hairy shit all over it....$450 down the fuckin drain...

there will always be moisture in the baggie due to the fact that there is moisture in the air and air in the bag. therefore MOISTURE. in the bag. so a baggie is a no no. i would just wait until about 2 months before you see your friend and start trying to pick up a sack then. that makes more sense then trying to keep a sack for that long. not to mention you'll end up smoking it when you get desperate.

the stuff i get is usually dank too, but in california it should be much less than that. plus you can get permits for growing there. my brothers gf has a permit to legally grow 3 pounds. grow you own if you can

funny you should bring up this question now. just the other day i found like a gram of dank weed that i bought last june ( i knew it was the same stuff because of the container it was in), so what.. 16 months ago.. it was dry and crumbly, but still tasted fine, and still got me nice and toasted! so yeah, it will be dry as hell, maybe not as nice to smoke but should still be fine.

i cant just up and get a permit for growing. need my reasons. and now im starting to become very pissed. because ive NEVER heard of dank weed going for any less then 15 bucks a g or 40 bucks for an eighth. if it cost any lower, id assume it wasnt dank. so pissed off right now lol.

i could find it for less money than that even, i know other people who sell for less but im loyal to one dealer, im sure of its weight and that its dank. hes never screwed me once so i dont care if it costs a little more. if your ever in the area remember this SUBURBS ARE A GOLDMINE, also 1 out of two people you ask here will know somebody who knows somebody who has an UNbeleviable deal

Qp, maybe $500 - 600? That's a guess, i've never bought one before.
Pound, dunno, $900-1000?
Keep your bud in a mason jar if you're that worried. Or, like has already been suggested, put it in a baggie and then in the freezer.

dude i've seen on here so many times over and over people getting blueberry quallity dank for 10 a g... all those people can't be lying... but see you also have to take in account the economy of the area... it costs a whole hell of a lot more to live in cali then around here, but people also make more there.... just like in some parts of new york it's normal to pay up to 7 or 8 bucks for a pack a marlboro's, here, 3 somthing.

I'm in the Midwest too, and an ounce of danky dank is $400+ around here. I sell my excess to a dealer for $200/ounce, and he then resells it for $400, and he says it sells itself -- he just makes a couple of calls to let people know the primo shit is available, and two hours later it's all gone. He gets no discounts on price, so a QP is $800 and a pound is $3200. Since he doubles his money, he has no complaints, and has snatched up everything I've ever offered him.
I have a couple of friends in SoCal (San Diego area, gaming industry), and they tell me the prices are pretty much the same there, $400-ish for an O of something really good. They don't buy more than an ounce, so I dunno about other quantities. If they'd move back here, I'd hook them up for free, and I do hook them up for free when they come to town to visit family and stuff.
I wonder how expensive alcohol was during Prohibition, because I gotta say, pot prices are getting a bit ridiculous.

Weed is organic material. All things organic decompose over time. How slowly they decompose depends on the environment in which they are stored, but no matter how well stored, none can last forever.

raw cannabis does have a shelf life.
That being said..., if one removes the trichomes from the leafy matter (that eventually rots like all vegetation does), the trichomes/thc can remain potent for a couple of thousands years, or more.
Hashish has been discovered in tombs two thousand years old, and it's still potent.
Your canabis will still be good after a year, and probaby just as good as now if you store it properly.

Slipnot hit the nail on the head. Souldistortions prices are accurate for California. If you think the price of weed is bad out here, look at the price of housing. A house that would cost $200k in Atlanta would cost $1mil here. And that's not an exaggeration!! Fortunately, we pretty much only get dank out here so at least we're not paying that for schwagg or mids.
As for long term storage of weed, I've kept buds for over two years by vaccuum sealing them. Since there is no air, there's no oxygen and mold can't grow. It will compress the hell out of the bud but when you open that bag up they'll smoke just like the day you bought them.

sorry to "un-hijack" this thread, but to answer the original question: YES, marijuana does lose potency over time, as the THC breaks down, etc, ... I recommend keeping it in a Mason jar, in the refrigerator ... if it is too damp, crack open the jar every day, for a few minutes, until it is where you want it ... if it gets too dry, place a small piece of lemon or orange peel in the jar overnite ... you get the idea ... :smokin:
