Hi,

Some plants were just transplanted from soil to a mix of coco fiber and perlite. I a total noob and have some questions about working in this new medium. Its a netural medium so it I need to do all the work adding nutrients, but it also is somewhat like soil in that it seems to retain more water than some other mediums. How often should it be getting watered/fed. There are only 3 plants right now so I have been watering by hand but could set up a pump/drip system.

Thanks!

I have been using cocotek blocks and fiber mat for my last 2 grows. It is much better than rockwool cause I don't have to mess with the PH too often. The plants seem to like the coco fiber. The fibermat has anchored the plants down with their roots so have not any problems with plants tipping over.

I water every 3 hours for 15 minutes when the light is on.

My girls are few weeks from harvest.

Hope this helps.

cocotek blocks are much different then coco fiber, may i ask what brand of coco fiber are you using? i would recommend a drip/top feed setup on a timer, coco fiber has a tendency to become oversaturated and hold water for a long period of time, you wanna keep a close eye to how much water your girls are drinking, and how moist the soild stays, your plants will let you know if there thirsty or not, you really wanna watch overwatering in cocofiber cause you can run into root rot very easily, good luck
